Dogwood Rattery is located in South Western Pennsylvania (Indiana County). We run a small hobby fancy rattery. We specialize in Siamese/Dumbo/Velveteen Rex/Hoodeds/Banded/Blaze/Standards/PEW/Brokens/Blue/Black/Chocolate/Berkshire and many more to come! I keep my rattery pretty small that way all my rats get the individual attention and care they need. My rats are as tame as puppies, and WANT to be held. They get daily kissies, snuggles and hugs. If you don't see a specific rat (color/coat type...) that you want, I may either be planning on breeding for that in the future, OR may be able to direct you to someone who does breed the type you're looking for. I sell my rats fairly cheap, (normally only $8 each!). I sell them at $8 each as that is above the price of feeder rats in my area, and I do not, will NOT sell ANY of my ratties for food. I have nothing against people who need to feed their reptiles and certain amphibians, but not my ratties, mine are bred as PETS ONLY!  We are not in this for profit. My soul goal is to breed fancy FRIENDLY rats, to go to wonderful homes! I also want to strive to get people aware of how wonderful pet rats actually are. They're not the diseased *black plague* and or bitting varmints some people think they are. As with birds, reptiles, and other small rodents, there is a possibility for getting salmonella from handling rats, but if you take common sense of cleaning your hands, and not putting your hands in your mouth you won't have to worry about such things.  Please take the time to check out my site, tell your friends!!!
