You can listen to some songs off the EP at http://www.purevolume.com/dogsingeneral. In the meantime, browse our site, vote for your favourite RWS song, sign the guestbook/ask us a question and enjoy. You can also view all of our previous news updates on the link below the other news items.
2/10/06 - Split As many of you may or may not know, Running With Scissors have decided to call it a day. None of us have any time for the band anymore, and this has been a very difficult decision. We are releasing a free CD of all of our songs we can compile. If you would like one leave a message on our Myspace or email us at Dingo3001@aol.com. Thank you for all of your support over the last two years. I will keep this site maintained to bring you news of any new projects any of us are starting. Once again, thank you for your support.
25/06/06 - GIG! Yeah you heard right, we have a gig (finally!) with the Eastbourne Youth Arts Festival at Namaskar Rooms on July 7th. There's more information about it on the Gigs page. There's going to be 5 of Eastbourne's top young bands there so it's a pretty big event. Please come along and support us, the other bands have pretty big fanbases so we could do with some of you there! ~Lou
15/06/06 - The Nameless Everyone go and check out this band now: www.thenamelesssite.piczo.com And their Myspace site: www.myspace.com/thebandthenameless
4/04/06 - Myspace and EP Finished As you can see, we now have a MySpace, so feel free to add us as a friend and listen to our music. At the moment we only have one song uploaded (The Random Song), but soon there will be more coming, hopefully this evening. Also, our EP is officially recorded, produced, mixed and mastered and ready to be sent to anyone who wants one (they cost £3 each). The previews, as I said, will hopefully be put onto the MySpace later this evening (maybe) for your listening pleasure. Now all we have to do is finish recording our full-length album and we will be ready to look for gigs, etc. Hope to see you all there if we do get one hehe. ~Lou
24/03/06 - Seven/Eleven is Completed Today we finished recording Seven/Eleven and it actually sounds good this time!! The guitars are sounding professional, and George is rocking the kit better than ever. Now all we have to do is record Alone + Lazy and our remastered EP will be out and ready to rock your CD players should you choose to buy one. I recommend that you do, it is much better value this time! Hopefully we will be able to get some of our new recordings onto PureVolume and I am looking into setting up a MySpace site to gain more of a following around the local area. This will be done as soon as we can get our recordings uploaded in mp3 format. Once again, please post on the guestbook because it would be nice to know if people are actually interested in this band going further this year. ~Lou
11/03/06 - Further Updates Well I'll start with the least important news, shall I? We have 2 new logos in addition to our number-plate logo you see above. Now that's out of the way, we haven't been recording for the last 3 weeks because I had to get my guitar adjusted so I could fit thicker strings onto it. Anyhow we'll get on the case next week probably. Meanwhile George has nearly finished a song complete with lyrics, and I just wrote a bitter and twisted song which is going to be entitled "People Make Me Sick" or something to that effect. We haven't practiced in so long so we're a little bit rusty, but hopefully this will be rectified before our next gig at someone's leaving party or so I am told. We have a few cover versions lined up and who knows? We may be looking into gigging in larger places anytime soon when we've recorded our remastered EP, which will be cool. As always you can go post on the guestbook and let us know we have fans out there somewhere! ~Lou
16/02/06 - RECORDING PROGRESS Well, Here is some news for all you fans out there.........if we have any :(.......Finally The Remastered version of Little Drummer Boy has been recorded, mixed and is ready to be put onto the new DIG Two Thousand+5 REMASTERED album. Once again we'll keep you posted on the songs and how it's all going. Any questions? Ask us in the guestbook or sign your name! Always great to hear from people and get input from you! ~MonkeyBoy
07/02/06 - RECORDING IS DUE TO START AGAIN!! Yes as from this Friday we are recording again because George's computer is fixed! This is fantastic news and it means we can get on with producing our long-awaited CD. We'll keep you posted on the songs that are completed and any other progress we make like what the cover might look like and tracklistings. The recording process will take a few months but we're good at getting things done quickly. On another note, we are changing our name to Running With Scissors and a new website is currently being designed. It will still be a freewebs address, but without a template this time so it will look more professional and it will probably be much easier to navigate. We may be able to get a domain name once the design is finished as well so at some point we'll get round to that.
16/01/06-21/01/06 ~ More News Well the lunchtime gig at the school was the best gig we've ever done and hopefully we have a few more fans now. More information about that in the brand new GIGS page which means we can prevent overcrowding on our pages (especially the old Music etc page). It's amazing how much we as a band have progressed in terms of musical skill and songwriting and we are playing tighter than ever. We just wish we could get back to recording again but so far there's no more news on that. So for now we're back to writing more songs for a forthcoming album hopefully this year. We already have one new song called Connubial Butchery which is a bit weird but there's more info about it on the lyrics page. Our new songs are probably going to be heavier than our previous stuff, more along the lines of perhaps Seven/Eleven and Alone and Lazy, which should be cool. Don't worry though! The old songs will still be on the new album as well as the new ones. Expect to see a lot from us any time soon. In the meantime we'll just have to gig wherever we can and build up a larger fanbase as we go along. Any ideas for gigs post them in the guestbook or email me at Dingo3001@aol.com ~ Lou
