Remember that to be effective, training must be consistent so as not to confuse your dog. The commands you use should always be issued in a firm but controlled manner. Never lose your temper and shout at or strike your dog when they get it wrong. Always praise and reward them when they get it right.

 All dogs are of course different and some will invariably take longer to train than others. Time and patience are however the key requirements which, when coupled with the above golden rules, will enable you to successfully train your dog.
