Nick began playing bass aged 11 in 1982; he has been teaching bass students since 1992 and in the last eight years as a full-time musician, his teaching business has expanded rapidly. Students are encouraged to help formulate learning programmes applicable to their own needs and experiences; the emphasis is placed firmly on what they want to learn but at the same time, to cover essential theory and technique - his experience as a professional proving invaluable as to what is required in the `real' world of music. Graded examinations are available for study should the student require these. At least five of Nick's former students have gone on to study bass guitar at Degree level and full references are available should you require them!!

Over the last eight years as a full-time musician, Nick has travelled out to his students' homes and has taught all over the UK. He now runs a purpose-built tuition studio to the rear of The Live Music Shop so he can devote more time to teaching and the writing of a number of tuition books. Lessons are normally one hour in length (half hour lessons are available, or indeed lessons can be longer than 1 hour!) and can be weekly, bi-weekly or other frequency, depending on the needs of the individual.

For those individuals based outside Peterborough, Nick can (subject to other commitments) offer tuition outside the regular catchment area (due to the excellent road links and a turbo-charged Mondeo!) and can offer block lesson times of two or more hours - however an extra charge will be made due to travel expenses.
