Stardate: July 2009

Nick has now recovered following a very serious ear operation, and has resumed his busy teaching schedule and of course gigging all over the UK with top function band X-Elle.  He has had a packed schedule over the last few months, including appearances with the One Eyed Cats The Intruders (alright Bill!) and Citizen Smith, plus a number of theatre shows working for Steve Hession (Musical Director). He recently appeared with The Foottappers - the UK's youngest Shadows tribute act at a special `Shadows' Evening in Grantham, featuring Brian `Licorice' Locking. As well as the above projects, Nick is also working with `Undercover', playing pubs and clubs all over the Eastern region and is now first call bassist with the newly formed rock covers outfit `Monkey Boy' with his cousin Mel Gilbert! Some more great news; Nick is now an Elites Strings endorsee - many thanks to Dean `Deano' Mitchell and Barry Moorhouse at the Bass Centre.

Following the massive success of the 2007 production of The Full Monty, the The Key Theatre, decided to run it again at the end of 2008 and Nick again supplied bass for the twelve piece band - again packed houses and excellent reviews and Nick has completed a five-week run of 55 shows playing bass for Cinderella! (oh yes he did!) back at the Key. The panto ended up the City's favourite, coming first out of the three pantos running!
