Welcome to our website!
Here you will find information on our pet ratties and some information on proper care and housing along with tons of pictures of course! We are located in northern Virginia and are happy to assist you in finding the perfect pet ratty to bring into your home. There are a few great rescues in the area along with a couple breeders I can recommend to you if we don't have what you are looking for.
Pet rats have been a part of my life for over18 years. After my last pair of rescues passed away I decided to contact a local breeder for some babies - each of their cute lil faces can be seen on our gallery page. Also a brief bio of each on our Bios page. Each and every rat is handled multiple times daily - as their sweet, licky attitudes will show. As soon as they see us they're all waiting at their door for snuggle time. Our ratties are beloved family pets. My favorite varieties are Marked rats in Beige and also Burmese and Black-eyed Siamese. I am in the process of working with an established breeder to have a Burmese/BES line in the next couple years. Yay!!!
Check the Available page for information on available rats or for links to find your next pet. The Nursery page will show any current litters we have. All potential adopters are screened and educated if necessary on proper rat care. No rat may be adopted without a signed adoption contract. I am always, always available for adopters to contact me with questions, concerns, updates, photos etc. Being in the veterinary field, I constantly strive to educate pet-parents to provide the best life possible for their furry friends.
Spring 2009 Update: Due to the huge amount of time necessary to devote to studies for my veterinary technology degree, we will not be breeding more than 1-2 litters per year. We have a healthy and loving line we're working with from a local experienced breeder, we will be breeding only to continue that particular line at this time. Breeding and raising litters properly takes a good chunk of time and at this point that time is not available for our family. We will always be available to help you with finding a rattie whether from a breeder or rescue. We will resume actively breeding within a couple years hoping to continue our Marked line and start a Burmese line.
