A Traveler?
A small calico scented the air. The forest was speaking to her. Birds sang and the gentle sound of wind in the tree tops comforted her. Her journey had been long and exhausting. A small trail ran deeper into the forest. It wasn't very well worn, maybe it hadn't been traveled in a long time. "Should I go any further or turn back?" She thought. "Maybe this could be a new adventure..."
"It most certainly will." Answered a voice from behind a wall of ferns. The calico turned quickly around to see an old gray and white tom standing not too far away.
"Who are you?" She asked him. The tom smiled.
"I am an old forest cat. You must be new around here, young one. If you plan to follow this old path, be careful. Danger is around every corner, but the rewards are great." The calico nodded.
"Thank you." But before she could say this, the gray and white tom was gone.
