Hello and Welcome to my Website!

The next Group Exhibition HA'KMIHA LA'SHALOM - "QUEST FOR PEACE"

Opening 18th August 2007 in Nahariya - MIGDAL HAMAYIM Museum, and running through this summer, this exhibition has received the support of the Ministry of Culture and the opening event will be addressed by the President of Israel!

Throughout the summer, along the Galilee settlements, an outdoors exhibition, "a one year after" on the subject of WAR and Peace and QUEST FOR PEACE - 150 artists and the children from the north of Israel - will be showing their art on Banners along the Galilee settlements.





Creating Light - Invitation

Creating Light was held at the Gallery in Kibbutz Gan-Shmuel, 16th December - 30th December, 2006.  

The invitation to this Group Exhibition shows 2 of MY creations as it's background - I was very surprised and flatterred!

More Animals in Clay and their Symbolism

 

The Porcupine symbolizes mostly innocence, the renewed feeling of wonder and miracle of life and security in power. Some see in it the symbol of creating a personal path and also of allowing others to take their own without interference. The way the porcupine turns itself into a ball of thorns has turned him into a symbol of setting boundaries and the ability to defend oneself whilst being attacked. In complete opposition to it's symbol of innocence and shyness - in Christianity the porcupine represents doing of evil - and sometimes it symbolizes witchcraft.

Symbolism of a Rooster, a Peacock, a Crane, an Owl, a Snake, a Duck, an Ox, a Whale, a Dolphin, a Cat, a Sheep, an Elephant, an Octopus, an Alligator, a Dog, JellyFish and a Penguin

 

The Rooster is the symbol of the gods of sun. Symbol of activity and awakeness. Symbolizes the male principal and protection of the family and the community. Symbolizes superiority, Bravery and battles, awakeness and the rise of dawn and the forces that awaken with the sunrise. It's voice in the Indian culture and in the New-Age culture symbolizes the power of the voice, symbol of hearing the internal voice, listening to the internal voice and understanding language. The roosters call symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. The rooster symbolizes masculinity, a sign of fertility. In Christianity it symbolizes revival. The rooster on the windmills symbolizes standing on guard. The Chicken (Hen) symbolizes motherly concern and worrying. In Christianity the Mother Hen and her chicks represent Jesus and his believers. (this one is sold)

A Peacock is a symbol of the sun. His round tail represent the sky and it's eyes the stars. In Buddhism the eyes represent caution. The pride of the male mating act for his female have become synonym with arrogance and dandy and a show-off. Symbolizing all the aspects of beauty, immortality, respect, dignity, and the ability to see into the past, the present and the future. Self confidence, the ability to rise after a harsh blow, love and long life. In Buddhism symbolizes compassion, alertness and caution. In the Chinese tradition symbolizes stature, dignity and beauty. In Christianity it symbolizes immortality and resurrection.

In China as in other places - a Crane is a sign for goodness, messenger of the gods, motherly love and happiness. Symbolizing stature, long life, immortality and spiritual enlightenment. In some areas in Africa and North America identified with wisdom. In Shamanism symbol of light and spring. Symbol of astral voyages, long life, new knowledge and elegance. Considered to be a foul interested in showing the way to others, symbol of intelligence, the ability to see things connected to secrets, and special use of voice. In the range of Chinese to Middle Eastern culture the crane is an allegory for justice, long life and the symbol of the good soul, persistent and investing. Symbolizing the messenger of Gods, communication with the gods and the ability to enter higher levels of consciousness. In the Chinese tradition symbolizes immortality, long life, motherly protection, awareness and alertness, prosperity, high political stature, Happiness. In the Christian tradition symbolizes alertness, loyalty, goodness, order in celibacy life. In the Greek and Roman tradition sacred to the God Apollo.

An Owl - the sacred bird of the Goddess Athena in Ancient Greece - the Goddess of wisdom and night. Symbolizes wisdom and learning. In some parts of Africa it is considered to have powerful Magi strengths. On one hand common symbol for wisdom and on the other symbol of darkness and death. Symbol of secrecy and quick and silent movement, and the ability to sneak up, new vision and the ability to see through masks. Considered a messenger for signs and secrets, symbolizes change of form, connection between darkness and the invisible world and the world of light. The ability to accept the shadows in a man's personality, magic and witchcraft connected to the moon and freedom. In the Indian tradition symbol of wisdom and knowing the future. In the Celtic tradition symbolizes negative earthly powers and is known as the "the night witch" and "the body bird". In Chinese symbolism the owl is a symbol of evil, crime, death, nightmares and ungrateful children. In the Japanese tradition it is a sign for bad omen and the symbol of death. In the Mexican tradition also symbolizes night and death. In Hinduism it is the symbol of Yama, the God of the dead. In Christian symbolism it symbolizes Satan, the powers of darkness, solitude, willowing, morning and bad news. In ancient Egypt the owl symbolized death, night and the cold. In the hieroglyphics system the owl represents all the above and also passivity. In the Hebrew tradition the owl symbolizes blindness.

A Snake - of all the animals in the world this one seems to have the most respect by all, perhaps because it stands for so many powers. Connected with the underworld (hell) and identified with the genesis waters of life. The symbol of the snake was very popular in agricultural societies where it symbolizes the fertility of the earth. The nature of the snake shed it's skin has led to it being the symbol of renewal and rebirth, hence it's connection to medicine. In connection with the primeval sin the snake is considered the symbol of evil, deceit, smoothness of tongue and as the embodiment of temptation and sin.

A Duck - in North American myth the duck acts as a go-between the sky and water, and was one of the creatures that assisted in re-building the world after the flood. In China and in Japan the duck symbolizes content, happiness in marriage and loyalty. 

An Ox - symbolizes power and virility. connected also to the moon because of it's half moon-shaped horns. Also has feminine characteristics. In Taoism the wise Lu Tzu was seen riding an ox and symbolizes taming of the ego.

A Whale symbolizes Death and Rebirth and the darkness before the light.

A Dolphin - in the Greek mythology this noble fish leads the souls to the next world, saves men whose boats have been capsized and symbolizes safety and speed. Identified with the Sun God, Apollo, connected with Dionysus, God of wine. The dolphin is a symbol of good virtues.

A Cat - in ancient Egypt the cat was greatly admired and the male cat was the sign of the God of the Sun. Symbolizes independence, seeing the invisible, protection, love and a brave and sometimes cruel warrior when pushed into a corner. He is considered to enable man to dream his dreams and assists in meditation and reflection. Symbolizes silence, passion and freedom. In the Japanese tradition the cat symbolizes the powers of transformation, rest, relaxation and peaceful sleep. In Christianity the cat symbolized the devil, darkness, greed and laziness.

A Sheep symbolizes new beginnings, keeping a balance during dangerous situations, fertility, self assurance, brevity for keeping a balance, multitude and security in new areas and fields. In a different aspect a lamb or a sheep following a heard without a thought of it's own is a symbol for blindness, and walking unintelligently in others paths. In the Chinese tradition it symbolizes celibacy. In Christianity the sheep symbolize Jesus' flock of followers and the apostles. 

An Elephant symbolizes power, patience, wisdom and purity. The head of the Hindu God Ganashe is an elephant's head and his large belly symbolizes prosperity and blessing. A white elephant symbolizes royalty and is identified with Buddha.

An Octopus - because of it's winding arms it is associated with the spiral - symbolizing air, water, lightning and roaring thunder one place, swimming in hard times emotionally, and tough emotional experiences. The correct use of softness, the ability to release oneself from the physical and emotional dangers of life. Symbolizes wisdom and the breaking down of negative barriers and quick movement from dangers.

An Alligator with it's mouth open symbolizes non-conformism, freedom from the limitations of this world. Symbol of revenge by way of patience, and symbol of the ability to identify cheating and deceit. Identified with the fertility of the water and at the same time the bonding with mother earth. Symbolizes Seth in his negative meaning, cruelty and meanness. In the Indian culture on the other hand, symbolizes protection from manipulation, motherly protection, and bondage with mother earth, understanding weather, ability, initiation and entering deep knowledge. Symbolizes fertility and power.

A Dog - symbolizes total loyalty, camaraderie and friendship, unconditional love and protection of one's mate and surroundings. Bravery and heroism. Readiness and awareness of danger. Nobility. It symbolizes understanding of the duality of faith and doubt.

JellyFish symbolizes sensitivity to the energy of the element of water - feelings, understanding the value of floating in one place. Swimming through emotionally hard times and tough emotional experiences. The right use of softness (tenderness), the ability to unleash oneself from life's physical and emotional dangers.

A Penguin symbol of fatherhood, understanding of feminine energy in the male, patience, Astral voyages, daydreaming and endurance.

The Snail symbolizes slowness and sensuality. It also symbolizes its slowness as an advantage and gain, the importance of mobility, leaving a track, understanding the value of humor, protection using retreat and sensuality. The snail that emerges and retreats into his shell is identified with the moon cycle and symbolizes birth and rebirth. It usually is considered to bring LUCK!





STAR FISH
The Symbolism of a Star Fish - In Europe it is seen as the symbol of the never ending power of love. In Christianity it symbolizes the Virgin Mary leading the believers through the turmoil's of love. Natural Black and white clays - each starfish has it's own unique fingerprints - no two are alike.
