“Spoil your grandkids and send them home” doesn’t work for us. Morgan is our
pride and joy, as she is just like our own. I worked at Stoneville Furniture
for 8 ½ years right after high school and then went into trucking, where I was
at C & N Evans for 4 ½ years before moving on to Warren Trucking Company for the

manager for Liberty Textiles in Eden, NC. I have been blessed with two children
and two grandchildren, who are very special and dear to me. I lost my son five
years ago and will never feel exactly the same about life, but I understand that
God has a plan. Still love them Ford Mustangs, currently own seven.

another due July 18th. I have been teaching preschool since 1989.

Bobby Dean: (Children: Gregg – 30 and Renee – 24;
Grandchildren: Victoria -4) I attended PHCC after graduation while continuing
to pursue my musical dreams of rock and roll success (like 9 million other
musicians in the ‘70s). Three weeks after finishing PHCC I got married and got a
real job with Bassett-Walker just to tide me over until the music career took
off (any day now...). The band stayed busy on a regional level and was fairly
popular on the college circuits – playing so often at UVA that I felt I had
earned a degree from there. After two years of marriage I discovered that sex
can sometimes result in becoming a parent… This revelation caused me to re-think
my commitment to full-time employment and now I’ve been with VF Corp (who bought
BW) for 33 years enjoying (enduring) a satisfying management/administration
career. Six years after having a great son I got introduced to a wonderful
daughter (who recently announced she is expecting). I’ve loved every moment of
being a dad. In the 90’s I almost got the big music break I was waiting for,
playing four years with The Hutchens who signed a record deal with Atlantic
Records. They turned out to be one of those “No Hit Wonders”, but I learned
much about the music business at that level. My extended musician family, over
these long years, remains some of my closest friends. In 2003 I became separated
and two days later became a grandpa (exciting week)… Got into serious running
after that and now average over 20 races a year of all lengths, but haven’t yet
attempted a marathon (maybe next year). Still active in church with music and
teaching adult classes. I have also ridden motorcycles for the last 10 years and
did make one long ride (over 4,000 miles) out to South Dakota. Overall it’s been
an interesting life so far. I’m looking forward to the next 50…

only long enough to earn enough money to “get out of town”. In August 2007 I
will have been with the firm (now Sells, Hogg & Jones, CPAs, P.C.) 35 years. I
fell in love with the work, went to Patrick Henry and earned an associate
degree, and sat for and passed the CPS (was the Certified Professional Secretary
– now probably called something different) and Enrolled Agent exams. I remained
single until June 1993 when I married Mike Robertson, one of those dreaded
Bulldogs (class of 64) and a former football player no less. Aside from getting
back into church, my husband and my career are the smartest decisions I’ve ever
made.
