4 new awards, with a first place finish for black sands. which i'm very happy with cuz it came out....just so perfectly.

~EDIT~ alti~~this was done for the XAC challenge this month. the actress's bday is this month and i'm guessing that's why she chose alti as the theme.
xena vacation~~and now for something completely different. the last artypolis theme was xena on vacation. and since my original idea of them going on an olivia cruise is out(hehe) because of the no subtext rule, i went with this. quite amusing to me and it looks pretty decent.
claire stansfield~~a HUGE thanks to angie for this one. she emailed me all the pix she had, cuz there was NOTHING good online. she's helped me a couple times now and i'm very grateful for it. claire stansfield played alti, second best xena villian. her birthday is the 27.
christina applegate~~i think by now it's pretty well-known that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. i've always liked her. she's a great person, fun, and well, of course, very beautiful. so i felt like doing something for her. from start to finish(including finding pix) was about 2, 3 hours; possibly the fastest i've ever done. the color scheme was a bit of an accident, i didn't intend to have the purple in there, but i really like it. words are her own from an interview she had recently.
and i know i said i'd post more stories, but what did i do the whole time? play resident evil. so yeah, that'll take a little bit longer i guess.
i made some icons a while back for sophia bush after i watched john tucker must die. so here they are.

so much to cover....
new layout...blame it on the movie choices i suppose. but i was in the mood for something new. originally i was trying to use a 3 pic in the header, but i just couldn't get it. so i changed it up and here we have this much smaller header, but i think i like it.
2 new awards. i should have added them last time, but i forgot that i hadn't posted them on the pageXD
hey look! roswell art! near you~~i'm not sure exactly why i decided to do some roswell art. i think it was because i was listening to my ipod at work and heard this song(though that isn't the sequence that goes with the song). um, where was i...oh yes, the episode features shiri appleby and the song plays over her and her new beau in a secret rendevous/dance(no euphamism there). which led to roswell.
crash festival~~in looking for caps for the previous piece, i found these. i've wanted to do a wall with empty areas, negative space. and this just came out so ridiculously well. i mean, it looks awesome.
daddy's little girl~~well, these caps have been sitting on my computer for months now. i had originally envisioned something different, i had a lot more caps to use. but in the end i went with something a bit simpler. and i'm glad i did. and through an almost accident i have here the great diachomoty of faith and buffy. faith is all guts and glory, and buffy is loving. where buffy is innocent, faith is...well, not innocent.
3 seconds~~ah, imagine me & you, what a great movie. i loved it. and here we have our girls, luce and rach. i debated using a cap of them kissing, but meh, didn't feel right. ah, i loved this movie.:D
i think that's it for now....OH bloody hell, how i could i forget. i've added the nav link to my stories. right now there are only the first 3 chapters of one character's set, but there will be more later. i will actually get the chance to breathe this week and will be able to get some work done on that.
i'd forget my head somedays if it weren't attached to me body. there's 4 new link buttons, 1 for the previous layout, just cuz.:D and then 3 to go with this one. and for resource links....i'll have to figure out what i used. the movie caps though i did myself. my gf keeps bugging me that i should set up a screencap site. but i think it's far too much work and i don't have the software for decent sized widescreen shots. but seeing as how i get free rentals now it isn't a bad idea.....

so i had no internet on my computer for the past week and a half. and you'll soon be seeing the fruits of that time. i'm glad that i have a tendency to gather a bunch of pix for different stuff all at once.

4 new walls
eva green~~i really loved her in casino royale. easily my favorite bond girl.
claire redfield~~this actually started out as a different project. was starting to make one of her, jill valentine and alice, but i decided to go ahead and do this one right now. mostly cuz i could only find 1 shot of alice. which sucks cuz i need to get a few more so i can make one of just her. anyways, ali larter, she's cool. liked her since legally blonde.
a day in the life~~the contest at artypolis was to make our most memorable moment, the thing we'll always remember, made us laugh, cry, whatever....and well, this is it really. it is my absolute favorite episode. it's fricking hilarious, and the 2 of them are SO flirty, it's ridiculous.
melt into me~~XAC's theme was xena and ares(i won't get into how unfair it is to have a xena/ares shipper theme and not allow subtext pieces in any contest...) anyways, was never big on this pairing, not because i don't like ares, he's awesome, but xena was meant for someone else;)
also, i've decided to post the stories i have written. couple reasons for that, 1, right now they are only posted on a site that prevents non-members from reading them all(namely a friend of mine). 2, some of you have your own writings up on your sites. granted most are fanfics, and mine aren't, but still. thirdly, why not? i have some work to do on that still, so the links won't be up for a bit.
and oh yeah, the thumbs. i dunno, got bored with faces, decided to start using things a little bit more interesting.

three new pieces today.
elijah wood~~done for the challenge at lumber room. the quote is from renee o'connor. in an interview in 07 it was mentioned that she has acted with a lot of famous people that she doesn't really ever talk about. a few were listed and she said a couple things about them. she was in(briefly) adventures of huck finn with elijah when he was about 11. she was very impressed by him.
shine away~~anna nalick is my absolute fave musician, and it took me a long time to find some decent shots to use. i really love these. lyrics from her new single, youtube video is here for it.
always a lady~~this was done because way back in 97 i opened one of my friend's game magazines to an article on tomb raider 2 and saw this woman dressed as lady lara croft. someone had the brilliant advertising strategy to have a woman dress as lara. since then there have been many models, and of course angelina jolie. but no one will ever match up to rhona mitra for me. she will always be lady lara croft.:D

4 new pieces tonight, 2 for contests, 2 because...well, i'll get to that.
black sands~~contest at artypolis. the theme was sand. the first four entries all picked the same episode. and they all looked the same too! and here i was, going in the COMPLETE opposite direction. oh, explanation, right. okay, so, new zealand is known for its black sands beaches. and, in this particular episode, xena let's callisto die. they get trapped in quicksand and xena managed to use her whip and chakram to pull herself out and then just sat there and watched callisto as she slowly slipped down into the sand to be suffocated, the whole time her pleading and itching at xena to help her out. so we have "black" in more than one meaning. and after i sent it in, i remembered the chick who runs the site has her personal art site, titled black sands.
pick 3/warrior remains~~challenge at XAC was to use any 3 images on the given page. think i did a fair job of it.
girl eyes~~not much to explain except that sophia bush is flippin' GORGEOUS and eve6 is one of my favorite bands. i was tossing it back and forth, using this line for her or kristen bell. but i've got something else for kb(not to mention 3 pieces already), so i went with sophia. i was watching stay alive tonight and figured it'd be the perfect time to make this. incidentally, was a pretty good movie, better than i thought it'd be.
sophia bush~~ok, i was only gonna do the one wall, but there were so many good pictures that i had to make another one.

scream~~done for challenge at lumber room. great shots of avril. there was another one i loved, was a beautiful photo, but didn't fit into the piece.
