Sailing Ship Columbia

The Sailing Ship Columbia opened at Disneyland in 1958 after Walt Disney Felt that the river was just not busy enough. The ship is not modeled after any other ship (dispite popular belief) and sails around Tom Sawyers Island like the Mark Twain River Boat does. The scenery may be the same on the outside but there is a whole new world out there when you ride the Sailing Ship Columbia. You can also travel below the decks of this ship and see what it was like to be a sailor on a sailing ship. Recently due to the opening of Pirates Lair the ship is also playing host to a pirate like theme. This is a fun little thing to do with your kids so you can relax and enjoy one of the many things that Walt Disney enjoyed.

Guide to The Sailing Ship Columbia

This attraction is a fun little thing to do with your kids and is just a relaxing thing to do. The attraction is a walk on attraction for the most part unless of course it is not docked, but it never has a line. There is a small part where they fire off the cannons on the ship and they are very loud, other then that the voyage is calm.
