It seems like most people are forgetting what it really means to leave comments. First off, you need to remember that it says "Comment" NOT "Compliments". You don't always have to leave some cutsie message saying how great a video was, especially if its subpar work. The biggest mistake you can ever make is basing a comment on their abilities off YOUR abilities. Comments should based off the abilities of some of the BEST Amv creators, because thats the only way anyone will ever get better. If you keep saying "cool AMV" or "That was awesome", someone will never get better because they dont know where to improve, which is where you come in. You need to say specifically what you liked or didnt like about the video, mostly what you didnt like. That way the next time someone does an AMV, theyll try to correct the mistakes they may have made the last time.
If you HAVENT seen excellent AMV's, I'd recommend going to www.animemusicvideos.org and watching the following videos:
1) Surfing on the Blocks by Zarxrax
2) Euphoria
3) Path of Advent by [DZX]
These are all AMVs I have picked for specific reasons. I'd recommend watching those AMV's a few times. I know they're good, and I know thats what you'll say about them. But instead of saying that, try to think of WHY these videos are good. What MAKES them stand out. The first two have wonderful effects, but the 3rd one just uses fades and flashes, and the occassional grayscale. So why is it so good? These are the things you need to think about when making an AMV, and when commenting on one. I sincerely hope you go download and watch these videos, they're excellent, and maybe you might learn a thing or two; I know I did.
