Constitution
Article 1: Name
The name of this society shall be; Saskatchewan Cage Bird Society.
Article 2: Objectives
The Saskatchewan Cage Bird Society is a society dedicated to the breeding of all cage birds and has the following objectives:
- to share information and experience between members,
- to hold as possible one to two swap meets per year where the sale of cage birds, supplies, and cages will be offered for sale by members and/or suppliers.
- to hold if possible one or two shows per year where cage birds may be adjudicated by an official judge.
- to facilitate group orders by club members of supplies and/or livestock from wholesale dealers.
- to maintain affiliation with The Avicultural Advancement Council of Canada.
Article 3: Membership
Membership is open to any individual interested in and/or breeding cage birds. Individuals are considered a member once their application for membership and dues have been received by the Saskatchewan Cage Bird Society.
Article 4: Application for Membership
Any individual wishing to be a member of the Saskatchewan Cage Bird Society shall submit an application for membership along with membership dues to the Saskatchewan Cage Bird Society on its membership form.
Article 5: Membership Fee
The annual dues for membership shall be determined by the executive.
A 30 day grace period shall be allowed between membership years.
Membership shall be from January 1 to December 31 of each calendar year. Membership received after January 1 but before October 1 shall be for the year ending December 31 of the calendar year in which the dues were received. Dues received after October 1 shall
apply to the next Calendar year.
Article 6: Forfeit of Membership
Membership may be forfeited when a member is found by a majority (51%) vote of the executive to have been guilty of causing disharmony, dishonorable conduct, unethical conduct or failure to pay dues.
Article 7: Voting
Members shall have one vote each.
Voting for the election of Officers shall be by secret ballot.
All other voting shall by show of hands unless the President is requested by a member for the use of secret ballot.
A simple majority (51%) shall govern elections and resolutions of any nature.
Article 8: Officers
A) All officers shall be chosen from members in good standing of the club.
B) Officers of the club shall be:
President
Vice Present
Treasurer/Secretary
Membership/Leg bands
C) All officers shall be elected at the annual meetingor by use of a Mail out ballot.
D) Vacancy during an office term shall be filled at the next regular meeting.
Article 9: Duties of Officers:
A) President shall preside over all meetings and generally supervise the club's affairs and shall also act as a public relations officer.
B) Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in their absence.
C) Treasurer/Secretary shall receive all club moneys, giving a receipt and keeping a strict record and deposit such moneys in a bank approved by the club. Pay all bills. Checks to be signed by the Treasurer/Secretary and President or Vice-President. Present a report
to the members at each meeting. Shall write and keep minutes and attend to all correspondence of the club.
Membership/Leg bands shall be responsible for keeping track of membership records and ordering club of leg bands.

D) Payment of Dues
E) Unfinished Business
F) New Business
G) Open Discussion
H) Adjournment
Article 11: Amendments:
Any Amendments must be voted on at a regular meeting and approved by a 51% majority.
