Healing the Diet Addiction

A women's recovery program in 10 steps

Welcome

Are you addicted to weight-loss dieting?  Do you hate your body, fall victim to empty diet promises, lose and regain the same weight over and over again?  Are you sick of that unhealthy cycle?  Want to quit wasting your time, money, and self-love and get your life back again?  Do you feel an affinity for the recovery movement principles?  Then this book might help you.

Healing the Diet Addiction contains some of what I’ve learned about recovering from my own diet addiction, an addiction that consumed my best self for over 30 years and gave me only pain and sickness in return..  I offer you these guidelines not as an order—"you must do it my way"—but as an option.  In addition to being a message to you, it is also a  record of my path to healing, those principles that I found most useful in recovery..

After almost 15 years of intermittent anorexia bracketed by another 15 years of dieting and over-exercise, I was finally able to give up the diet addiction and therefore the remnants of diet-induced overeating I had long felt so uselessly guilty over.  I have been free of my addiction for some years now, I think of food seldom and only with calm feelings, I love my body, and I wish I could pass to everyone the deep sense of peace, joy, and self-acceptance that has resulted.
