Epic 7: A duel map size game that doesn't allow players to invade the home country of the foe, Greece. I thought about it and decided that immortal would be most suited for a military approach since the AI would surely out-tech me, if I would leave them alone. Honestly, I do not like culture games or space race as well since they tend to be very dull in my mind. So, domination it would be. Thus, I planned to first settle on all land that was available to me while finding out more about the world map and it's Islands. Of course, it was crucial to know the size of Greek's home continent since it is out of bound and would determine how much land I had to conquer.

The early expansion:
After moving the warrior, I decided to settle on the spot and popping the hut produced a free scout. Not too bad for a start, of course I would have preferred a technology. But you can't have it all. Since I was having a warrior and scout, I started a worker

My scout roamed about the Island that I was given. He revealed stone, ivory, incense, some sea resources and another hut, which I popped in 3790BC, but it gave me a useless map of all things. But the map also showed that there is a canal town possible to be built on the forest hill east of the ivory. That might prove very important since our Island (or continent) was stretching all the way from north to south. After researching fishing I went to get hinduism, which I actually managed to grab.

I was slowly building up and researching archery to fight the barbs while putting down my second city in the east to eventually claim that silver resource there (the capital needed more happy faces). As you can see I also built cottages and keep up the research.

My 3rd city was put down to claim the sea resource and stone. In the mean time I researched priesthood to start a CoL slingshot with the Oracle. My archer meanwhile occupied that chokepoint to prevent any potential barbarians from harassing me.

By the way AH and bronze working didn't reveal any resources here, what a setup yet again. Since there was this small Island lurking in the north, I decided to check things out building a galley. The capital started the Oracle in 910BC. I also went for monarchy and heriditary rule for more happiness.

The Island did not reveal any copper or horses. So, I had to head for iron working to find at least iron on our home soil. In the meantime a fourth settler was heading for that choke while the galley was waiting to pass through the new city. I also adopted HR as mentioned above for added happiness.

I also did not forget to check what my foe was actually doing. I didn't meet him yet at that time, but demographics can tell a lot. Surprisingly I was outclassing him in GNP and almost even in land mass with a mere 4 cities? Hmm, that meant that Greek's home continent couldn't be that big either.

On to meeting my foe and the first violent encounters -page 2-
