All About Me .... or mostly :)

My husband, Bill, and I have lived in

Sequim, WA for the past 17 years.

I own a gardening service,

Di's Yard Care Service

Visit our Business Site

We are the slave labor, accountants,

purchasing agents, etc. for the business.

My father, James, was a wonderful and

excellent gardener and landscaper.

I started following him around early and

learned a lot about the gardening art

and the love of it.

Bill's father was a blacksmith, well driller

and house mover.

Bill learned a lot about making things

from scratch.

I come up with and draw the designs and

he builds them.

We have had many pets in our 26 years together

and right now we have one dog,

one cat, one bunny and 20,000 worms.

We raise the worms to use

their castings as fertilizer.

I was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 26 1952

and grew up in Whittier and Lynwood.

I graduated from Lynwood High School in 1970.

I spent my adult life, until I moved here,

moving around between Long Beach, Cerritos,

La Palma, Torrance and Downey.

I went to Long Beach State University

and El Camino College in Torrance.

I started out as a graphics-commercial arts major,

and graduated with a degree in

Electrical-Mechanical Drafting and Design.

In 1987, I went back to CSULB to pursue a

Physical Education degree, specializing in fitness.

I earned an

ACE Certification in Personal Training

and a NDEITA Certification in Group Fitness Instruction.

I have competed in Body Building and Power Lifting.

I worked in several private gyms, YMCA's and

Personal Fitness Consultant

businesses in Los Angeles and Orange County

during the years leading up to our

move to Sequim in 1992.

I became certified and worked as a

USA Swimming and Diving Official

refereeing swim meets and

judging diving competitions.

I owned TLC Pet and Plant Care Service

in Downey, CA

from 1984 to 1992.

Bill was born in Sidney, Nebraska on

September 28 1929, grew up in Potter, Nebraska

and graduated from Potter High School in 1947.

After selling his gas station business,

he left there in the early 60's and went to

Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa

                            to earn his Chiropractic Degree

After graduation, he moved to Downey, CA

in the middle 60’s.

He was a Chiropractor for 34 years when

he retired in 1992.

Bill was a member and advanced to President in the

Downey Optimist Club and the Downey Exchange Club.

I was the first lady member and first lady

President of the Downey Exchange Club.

The National Exchange Club first started

admitting women members in 1986.

Bill and I stayed very busy with the service

clubs until our move here.

I have many interests:

frogs, whitewater and surf kayak, cycling,

rock climbing, body surfing, sailing,dancing,

photography, gardening, reading, bead work,

bluegrass and folk music, my pets,

travel -  especially to Hawaii,

house/pet sitting, and the computer.

Bill loves to play Blackjack and Pai Gow,

a form of poker.

We live close to  the 7 Cedars Casino

and he is a regular there.

We have both worked there, he as a

card dealer and I as a security guard.

We now focus our time and

energy on the gardening business.

He loves to collect scale model pewter cars and play his

hand held poker and blackjack games.

He is an avid reader, is on three bowling leagues

and is the cook in the family.

I'm a wannabe architect and we designed and built

a 50' diameter Geodesic home

10 miles east of Sequim on 10 acres .

It is spacious and very unique.

We have a beautiful view to the south of

the Olympic Mountains

and are located on the Miller Peninsula

between Sequim Bay and Discovery Bay.

We love it,

it's like living in a park year round.
