Our home bred and raised gelding "KW Mighty Contender" has Qualified for the World Championship Appaloosa Show for 2009. We are very proud of this accomplishment and would like to thank the Louisiana State Appaloosa Club members who were so helpful in getting us started the right way.
Well our horses did it again! Melanie and KW Mighty Contender garnered a First in Aged Geldings under one judge, and a Third under the second judge. In Most Colorful at Halter they brought home a Second and a Sixth place ribbon. The Most Colorful Class had 12-15 horses in it. One of the biggest ever.
Mighty Luke Wareagle made his first show apperance and started to show some of his potential. We brought him out of the pasture 2 weeks prior to the show to get him ready. In the FDP Geldings Class Luke placed Second under both judges. In the Aged Geldings class Luke placed Third under one judge and Fourth under the other. Luke was also shown in a Walk/Trot Western Pleasure Fun class. After getting over his fear of the bear hiding under the stands his performance was very encouraging. Luke had only been ridden at home and this was his first taste of the outside world. We hope to have some pictures posted soon.
KW Mighty Contender, World Qualifer and Reserve Grand Champiom @ the LSAC show held August 25th in New Iberia La. "T" as we call him was born and raised here at Diamond W Appaloosa Farm. This was the first show for him and his owner/trainer, Melanie Wagley. We are very proud of their accomplishments. Looking forward to bigger and better things from this duo. Oh, and that's our son, Garrett, holding Mom's ribbons.
KW Mighty Contender and Melanie did it again! They added another Reserve Grand Champion Title to the trophy case. "T" also placed 4th and 5th in Most Colorful at Halter. This LSAC show was held March 2008 in conjunction with the Louisiana Equine Council Expo in Gonzales La.

If this keeps up, I will have to look at getting a larger trophy case!
