Diamond Dust is a bi-monthly website that strives to empower teens and adults in their Christian walk. We are based on the principle displayed in this quote:
“Adversity is the diamond dust with which heaven polishes its jewels”-Leighton
We believe that God uses troubles in our lives to cut away and smooth the rough parts in our lives. After this type of “diamond dust” is used, we become stronger as Christians and in our relationship with the Lord. Only then can we truly shine.
We do not require submissions to be explicitly Christian, but ask that they include good morals and clean content.
Special Needs: Fillers, seasonal manuscripts (submit 4 months in advance), and general interest articles related to our monthly themes.
We consider submissions from all ages. We are open to submissions from teen writers.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
ARTICLES-- 200- 1,000 words. Personal experience, how-to, theme based, (etc.) Query or send complete manuscript.
DEVOTIONAL/INSPIRATIONAL PIECES-- 100- 500 words. These can be a devotional, or short piece that inspires. Prefers to see complete manuscript.
POETRY-- Under 30 lines, all types, all topics. Submit max 3 poems.
FICTION-- general interest or teen fiction up to 1,200 words. Query or send complete manuscript.
BOOK REVIEWS-- 150-500 words. We are looking for reviews of Christian fiction, Christian nonfiction, teen fiction, and other genres of books.
MUSIC REVIEWS-- 150-500 words. We are seeking reviews of Christian music artists’ latest CDs.
FILLERS-- to 500 words. Encouraging facts, stories, inspirations, games, prayers, short humor, quizzes, tips, sports, word puzzles, prose, crafts, ideas, recipes...
DIAMOND DUST SUBMISSIONS
We consider queries or complete manuscripts. Please include a short cover letter/introduction with your submission. If you are a teen writer, please indicate that in the cover letter and include your age. NEW POLICY: Please include a short bio (up to 50 words) with your submission if you wish for one to be published with your piece, should it be accepted.
Submit seasonal manuscripts 4 months ahead.
Please submit through email to DiamondEditor@yahoo.com. In the subject line put “Submission” and copy/paste submissions into the email message. Do not send email attachments.
Please submit only work that is your own writing. Be sure to include your name (or pen name) and email address. Allow up to 6 weeks for a response.
By submitting to Diamond Dust, you give us the one time electronic rights to post your work on the Diamond Dust website. Each issue is kept on the website for 4 months. The current issue and the previous issue will be available. Past work will be deleted.
We are unable to pay for accepted manuscripts. Accepted manuscripts that had a short bio (up to 50 words) included with the submission will be posted on our site when published.
All rights are to your work are returned to you after it has been published on Diamond Dust.
