Protect Yourself From Duping

The bonewall method of duping (creating a duplicate item from an original) has not been patched as of this writing, 11/30/2006. Almost all high runes (from Mal through to Zod), in the ladder games are duped, and will 'poof' if not 'permed'. Certain items are commonly known to be heavily duped, these include a perfect statistic Crown of Ages, Imp Shanks (rare boots), Griffon's Eye Diadem, the Stone of Jordan unique ring, and a hacked item imported from non-ladder, Wizardspike gloves. The duping method involves bonewall spamming to lag a player out of a game and causing what is known as a ' rollback '. This method can only be achieved by using at least three computers and three characters in a game
Watchout for Scammers
Usually scammers have the item that they want to sell to you equiped. Their inventory if full so when you try to trade them it wont succeed. Once that happens a few times they will say your inventory is full. Don't fall for that because you will get excited, if you think they are giving you a good deal they aren't, finally the item in their inventory such as a normal light plate not a 15ed Enigma they will put the light plate up and quickly accept the same time you do with your good item.
As you know, diablo 2 items like to disapear. This is the cause of duping methods.
