where to find my photos

If you are interested in my photography, there are 5 options for you:

1. have a look at the "my photos" page on this website
(I only uploaded my 20 'best' pictures due to the limited web space of non-premium users on 'freewebs', but this selection will hopefully give you an impression of what my motives are. - And it might make you want more, in which case you're recommended to proceed to options 2 to 4.)

2. visit my artist's page at
http://devikadesilva.deviantart.com
(Proudly presenting more than 200 photos. - It can hardly get more official and more 'professional' than the concept of this 'deviantART' site and it makes it very easy for you to get serious and order a print of my pictures, if that is what you have in mind. Photos range from landscape motives to flowers, animals, sky, buildings and random motives.)

3. check out my online portfolio at
http://devikadesilva.image-belle.com
(The concept is a bit of a cross between 'deviantART' and 'photobucket': The pictures on 'image-belle' are less than in 'deviantART' and more personally organized, and you have a slide-show option. The huge plus: no advertisements!)

4. have a look at my storefront at
http://stores.lulu.com/devikafernando
(So far, I have four 2008 calendars for sale on 'lulu' as well as two downloadable prints, with more to come soon.)

5. view my commercial profile at
http://www.redbubble.com/people/devikafernando
(Postcards as well as posters and prints by me are available through 'redbubble'.)

about my photos

I'm not (yet) a professional photographer - i.e. I've never undergone any course in photography nor am I officially qualified.
Hence, everything I know about photography is self-taught or was learnt along the way.
Ever since I got my first camera roughly 3 years ago, photography has become a hobby of mine.

My favourite motives?
Honestly hard to say but it would have to be anything 'natural', e.g. I prefer snapping plants or landscapes to shooting buildings or objects of daily life. Strangely enough, I've never been into portrait photography or capturing people.

For all the photos displayed here or elsewhere, I have used (and am still using) the 'Jenoptik Easy Shot' digital camera with 8.0 megapixels, 3x optical zoom lense and 2.4" LCD display.

I hope you'll enjoy looking at my photos as much as I enjoy taking them...
