What is the Developer Academy?

The Developer Academy is a resource for all developers on IMVU.

We are neither accosiated with IMVU Inc, nor is any member of the IMVU staff involved in the Developer Academy. We are just a few developers who felt like doing something good for the community.

That, and we got tired of having to join everybody and his dog's forum to find out how to do this or that. Information should be free and available for all. This is why you don't have to join anything, register or pay. This site is here for you even if you don't like us. Fact is, even if you hate our guts you can still read our tutorials when you get stuck. We're cool like that.

Scholarships

We like supporting new developers. This is why we give out scholarships - we'd hate to see a good developer not being able to submit new products because there's not enough credits.

A scholarship is a sum of credits. Every developer who has gotten a scholarship can apply for more, but we look att each case individually. The sum one gets is also individual - the more likely it is you'll "make it" the more you'll get. The most common reason a developer is refused a scholarship is because they have stolen images as stickers.

Some developers that have gotten scholarships

LisuKitty, MercenaryFox, CeridwenMyste, Discordya, br00tal, HeatherC19, AznRockStar, FelineFan, mystiangel, SapphireIce, RyuBluerider, ockin, holydust, Akyrae, DitaSweetSorrow, Velc0n, Vye, AtherineEteweo, PaperCranePeople, B13u, Pyxsii, xTintedwindowsx ... and we're still giving away more!

Want to become a dev...?

If you would like to become a developer you should read all the information IMVU provides and consider it carefully. If you don't have any paint/mesh skills and don't want to learn you are better of just buying credits. It'll be cheaper than stealing images and paying a lawyer to defend you in a law suit.

It costs real money to become a developer for two reasons, first you need a name and second you need a stash of credits to submit products with. Anything from 10 - 20k and up depending on how many products you plan on making.

Developing takes time. If you're not prepared to stare at the screen until your eyes bleed just to get one measly product ready - don't bother. Everyone can't be a professional football player either. You might have a different calling.
