This website is dedicated to all the former members of "The Devastating Dinks", an awesome horn R & B group based out of Salina, Kansas in the late 60s. Pictured here is John John Parker/Lead Vocal and Bill Hollingworth/Guitar.We were playing at the McPherson Community Building around 1968. John John was the singer when I started playing with the Dinks.

We're at the McPherson Community Building again around 1968.  Pictured Left to Right is  Alan Brown / Bass, Al Hanson / Drums, Larry Clark / Saxophone , Thomas Olson  / Trumpet. Alan Brown and Larry Clark again were members when I first started with the Dinks. Notice Larry is playing his Sax through a "Varitone" Amp. This split his notes into octives, so it sounded like two Saxes playing at once. Really COOL sounds..

Lamplighter Club Salina, Kansas: Keith Lockett/Vocals, John Bolton/Saxophone,Thomas Olson/Trumpet. This was 1969 and was the lineup of members when the band quit playing. Lindy Gallaher - "Can't believe Tom got us all to wear these clown outfits".

Lamplighter Club Salina, Kansas again in 1969: Bill Hollingworth/Guitar, Lindy Gallaher/Bass, Keith Lockett/Vocals This band was solid!...and a great bunch of musicians. We had also changed our name to "The Last Free Exit" Think we got that from a "Traffic" album. I wish Al Hanson was around for a jam session.

From Right to Left is: Dennis Frans on Hammond B3. Thomas Olson on Trumpet. John Bolton on Saxophone. I think this was our David Beatty sound system with the radar fin horns on top..

Not exactly a charter bus, was it?
