What am I Going to Do?
This is the same question that many of us asked ourselves when we realized that gas prices are now going to have a major impact on our lives. The first thing I can suggest you do not do is panic and go out and buy a hybrid, unless you are considering keeping the thing for more than 12 years. The reason I say 12 years is that it will take more or less 12 years before the car will pay for itself. So the hybrid is not even worth buying unless you are planning on keeping it that long. I do not know about you guys, but I do not want to be stuck driving the same car for over a decade. It is not that the Hybrid is a bad idea, it is just that the technology is not affordable yet. The dramatic rise in gas prices is what has driven hybrids to come out as soon as they have.
There are alternative methods when it comes making your dollar take you farther. I will mention these other methods in detail throughout the rest my web page. Some things range from very simple and usually overlooked tasks of auto maintenance while other methods can be as complicated as modifying much of your car or trucks engine.
