Although not officially called Desert Aires at the start,  this group had it beginnings when Earl Scott, former airline pilot and clarinet devotee, met his neighbor, pianist Edi Moore, about a dozen years ago. The two quickly formed a duo for clarinet and piano.
Then Scott met Solot, when both were playing in the Tucson Concert Band.
Before long, all three were performing at nursing homes and the like.

Soon another clarinetist joined the group and the group continued to grow. "We were practicing in Edi's living room," said Scott. "We had eight or nine people."

Presently, the group has grown to 20+ members all with one thing in common-the love of playing music.  With a variety of clarinets raning from the small Eb Clarinet to the large Contra Alto Clarinet, you can hear music every Saturday during the two hour rehersal at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church at 9:00 AM.  Additionally, Desert Aire's performs several times per month.
