The IPMS/UK Nationals or Scale Model World (SMW) is an annual model showcase held at the Telford International Centre, Telford, Shropshire. At this event, IPMS chapters from around the world come together to put on what has been called the largest model show of its type in the world.
Each club puts on a display of models which have been built by its members, sometimes to a theme, Derby & District is no exception. Building to a theme brings all the members together in a common goal, it can also be fun!

The photographs above are just a small example of the wacky world of the members from Derby & District Model Club. Last year, we had the theme of 'Under the Weather', this year it's 'Cars' from the Airfix 1:32 scale selection, well, there's a good selection to choose from so there should be a few interesting models on show at SMW.
Just in case you would like to meet some of the members of the club and see their creations, come along to SMW at the Telford Exhibition Centre on the weekend of November 18th / 19th 2006. If you just visit one model show this year, make sure it's SMW, come to Telford, you won't be dissapointed!
