Many of you who know me will be wondering why this page isn't dedicated to the holiness of Rammstein. Simple. Rammstein would be nothing without Herr Lindemann. Let me forewarn you: this page has to deal with a teutonic german male. Yes a male. No I am not gay. Many of you teenagers, especially teenage girls have something or someone you are utterly obsessed with. This page is nothing like that. This is my own damn website. If it doesn't please you, then you mean nothing to me.
Till Lindemann is basically the lead singer of Rammstein. (In reality he is the ONLY and SOLE singer of Rammstein...) His voice, as has been quoted by many other fans, is simply put: "If Satan had a voice...it would be Till's". When he sings this is indeed the case. He has an uncanny ablility to change the tone and depth of his voice so when he is singing it produces amazing harshness, but for those of you who know nothing about Rammstein except maybe Du Hast, he is not a Nazi, he is not Aryan, he is not suicidal, homicidal, crazy, the devil, or any other negative figure. In fact, even thought much is not known about Till, for he is very very private, he is the loving father of 2 daughters, Nele and Mary-Louise. He raised Nele on his own for 7 years. Not much is known at this point about where how or when Nele and Mary-Louise came from. No he is not a bastard or a asshole to leave his wife or not know the mother(s) of his children. He was married once, but divorced. His ex-wife was then married to Rammstein's lead guitarist, Richard Z. Kruspe-Bernstein. (This is why Richard's daughters's last name is Lindemann, Till's ex never changed her last name). Anyway, There is more to Till than meets the eye, and of course none of you actually care, in fact, no one probably is reading past the first two lines so basically I can go on and on about Till. And I will. Damnit.
Till was born in Leipzig, Germany on January 4th, 1963. He grew up with his mother, father, and younger sister. Both of his parents were artists. Till and his father never got along well, and his father would constantly beat him. Eventually, Till's father and mother divorced, and his mother re-married an American when he was 12 years old. His real father eventually died on an overdose of alchohol, basically. Till rarely, if ever, visited his grave. Till was an "oddball" in school while growing up, more or less the "dark" kid you see walking around the hallways, and this doesn't mean trechcoat, leather-clad, human hating pricks. He was quiet, and had his first girlfriend at the age of 18. He lost his virginity, however, at the age of 16 on a haystack. Quite the man. Currently, he lives in Berlin-Prezlauer Berg, in the top flat with big windows. (I got that from a site, its significance is low, but like I said, not much is known about Till so the more, the merrier.) He has a rather large fishtank, where he watches fish. He loves to listen to "heavy" music including Marlyin Manson, but also likes softer music such as Chris Issak. In his youth, Till was a European swimming champion, but his hopes of qualifying for the Olympics were dismissed when he tore an abdominal muscle. Also, Till refused to do his military service and was almost imprisoned over it. From Rammstein, Till gets along best with Schneider, and gets along worst with Paul. (Of course, this could be false, as I like to believe Richard and Till seem to always be together more than Till and Schneider.) Christoph Schneider is the band's drummer and Paul Landers is the rythym guitarist. Till also hates N'SYNC. Rock on. Finally, Till is a poet. The texts he writes for Rammstein are not what they seem. Most of them have puns, are play on words, or have much deeper meanings. Some are just for fun, and to Till, if you can't take a joke then fuck off. He currently has a book of poetry out called Till Lindemann: Messer (2001).
"My texts are a valve for the boiling over feeling - the lava in my soul." -Till Lindemann
"Loneliness sometimes gives me a quantity of creativeness...art doesn't work without pain, art also exists for compensating pain." -Till Lindemann
Overall, "Tillian Philosophy" as it has been called, is this: I get what I want, and if I don't, then I have a cigarette. His on-stage performance does not shape who he is in his perosnal life. If you have ever seen a Rammstein performance or heard any of the songs, do not go assuming he is some sex-crazed, 200 pound baby murderer, you conservative.
