Port Blair: Andaman and Nicobar's famous Havelock Island will host big-time Hollywood actors for a big budget movie to begin shooting soon according to the
Mumbai Mirror.
'Shantaram' is about a man who becomes a drug addict and bank robber, escapes from an Australian prison and flees to Mumbai, where he works as a doctor in slums and also gets involved with the underworld. The prize winning book is by author George David Roberts. The lead role in the movie will be played by Johnny Depp while Russel Crowe and Emma Watson will also star in the movie.

Veteran actor Christopher Lee has criticised the new wave of young Hollywood stars, claiming they are chosen for their looks rather than their talent - By Anita Singh, PA Showbusiness Editor, Press Association Newswire. 18 January 2006.
The 83-year-old screen legend lamented the state of modern cinema.
Movie bosses prize beauty and youth over acting experience, with often disastrous results, he said. The only young actor Lee did find praise for was Johnny Depp. The pair have co-starred together in three films, most recently Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Lee said: 'The number one actor in the world as far as I'm concerned is Johnny Depp. He's not afraid of a challenge, he's not afraid of anything.''

A recent poll conducted in America of 1,001 adults resulted in Top Movie Film Favorites Tom Hanks in the #1 position and mega-star Johnny Depp as #2. John Wayne, who died more than 25 years ago and Harrison Ford were tied for third favorite. Julia Roberts took fifth place. The following performers rounded out the top ten.

Now it seems two of the world's biggest movie stars could be on their way to Yorkshire to star in a new film of the tragic affair.
Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp are rumoured to have been lined up to play the roles of tormented lovers Cathy and Heathcliff in a new movie version of Emily Bronte's classic novel Wuthering Heights.
Reports suggest that Depp, 42, famous for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Jolie, 30, whose film credits include Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Mr & Mrs Smith, will begin filming some time next year.

DeppCon 2006, is a fun fan convention held for fans to meet and celebrate the artistry of our favorite actor, Johnny Depp. This year DeppCon 2006 will be in Los Angeles, California USA from July 7th to July 9th 2006. Registration fee is $40.00 if purchased before the event, at the door, $45. Fee does not include airline flights, lodging, or souvenirs. Proceeds from the convention, after expenses, will be donated to the Entertainment Industry Foundation, an organization Mr. Depp supports.
Scheduled activities are tentative at this early stage as well. A Thursday night Mixer has been scheduled and a Los Angeles/Hollywood area tour of places connected to Johnny, a trip to see "Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", raffles, vendors, panel discussions, trivia quiz, speakers, movies and talk show videos, and more are pencilled in as 'possible' already. Alas, Johnny is NOT expected to be there.

Decanter.com has printed an interview Johnny Depp with author Oliver Styles ofMadame Figaro magazine. Naming Chateau Calon-Segur, a Saint-Estephe third-growth his favourite wine he said, "It's a marvellous wine that you can drink every day and it's also very affordable."

Johnny did NOT get the 2006 Golden Globe Award for best performance in Comedy/Musical - Joaquin Phoenix was the Chosen one.
Anyway Johnny appeared (and is still there) at the Beverly Hilton together with Vanessa Paradis and they both were too beautiful for this world, aren't they?
