Johnny Depp, (John Christopher Depp II), was born on the 9^th June 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky. He lived with his parents, Betty Sue and John, his older brother Danny, and his two sisters, Christy and Debbie. He owns a home near Los Angeles, but currently lives in Paris with his long term partner Vanessa Paradis, a popular singer, songwriter and actress in France, and their two children, Lily-Rose Melody Depp, born May 27, 1999, and Jack John Christopher Depp III, born April 9, 2002. Since his mum bought him a guitar at the age of thirteen, Johnny has had a deep passion for music. He formed a band with a few friends named "The Kids". This band was quite successful and opened some band acts such as Iggy Pop. The bandmates grew apart and Johnny Depp is currently in a band named "P". "P" play at The Viper Room, a small club owned by Johnny Depp, IN Los Angeles. The Viper Room gained notoriety in 1993 when actor River Phoenix died of a drug overdose outside the club at age 23. He is also a part owner of the Man Ray restaurant in New York and Paris.

Johnny Depp had a tough childhood which included self-harm, petty theft and doing drugs. He has a series of 7 or 8 scars on his left forearm, which act as a constant reminder of his past. He says he felt lost and like a "pale no-hoper". This killed his self-ambition, and as a result of feeling worthless, he dropped out of school at 16 to focus on his music.

"My image still isn’t all that right now. I’m still that pale little no-hoper from school, just a pale no-hoper who happens to be a little lucky now…"

A few years on, and Johnny has successfully kicked the drugs and says that this is the happiest he has been in years. He has the perfect family, a great job and has finally realised what is precious in life…
