Dentview Fell Ponies
About me
My name is Rebecca Sim, and I have been involved with horses and ponies for 11 years now. I have an NVQ level 2 qualification in horse care and riding; plus my British Horse Society riding and road safety certificate. I have worked with a wide range of breeds of horses and ponies; but fell ponies are my favourite breed by far. I learnt to ride on fell ponies, so it was a natural choice for me to focus on this breed. I have learned very quickly that fell ponies are addictive and you can't just have one! So bear this is mind if you are new to the breed.
About the stud
Dentview Fell ponies is a small stud, only breeding one or two foals a year. My aims are to breed quality fell ponies, from traditional bloodlines with superb working temperaments. The stud is currently located at Lamplugh in Cumbria.
About the name 'Dentview'
The prefix Dentview was chosen because it is the name of the fell I have lived in view of for the last 17 years. We have a great view of the fell from our house, and it is fascinating seeing the fell taking on different shades and moods during the changing seasons. Dent is also the name of the famous yellow 'Dent lemonade'. A local riding centre run their partbred fell ponies used for trekking out on the fell, and I have ridden over Dent and Cold fell/Kinniside common many times; so felt it a very fitting prefix for my ponies.
