Slash
The first time I've ever heard Slash was on the radio. I was automatically drawn into his beatitude of music. As moronic as that sounds, it's true. He is one of the greatest influences in my life. He has inspired me to pick up the guitar and learn to play. Granted, I don't play that much anymore, because photography has become a true love of mine. I still play around here and there. He is the guitarist for Velvet Revolver. Previously he use to be the guitarist for Guns N' Roses, Slash?s Blues Ball, Slash?s Snakepit, and Road Crew. I absolutely love Slash. In my opinion Slash is the greatest guitarist that ever lived. Saul Hudson, aka Slash, wailed onto the music scene in 1987 with Guns N? Roses. With his top hat, long curly hair, and dangling cigarette, he became an instant guitar god. Slash is entirely self taught. He learned to play guitar by listening to records and trying to mimic what he heard. He would play as much as 12 hours a day, and one of the first songs he learned was Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water". He spent a lot of time playing along with Jeff Beck's records, too. For a very short time he took lessons from guitarist Robert Wollan; but he didn't want to learn the traditional way of playing scales and simple tunes, SLASH wanted to play the intro to "Smoke on the Water"! As his playing improved, he became interested in speed-metal and punk

Edgar Allen Poe
If you've read anything by Poe, you should automatically know that he is AMAZING. Sure, he is a "little" weird, but that doesn't take away from the extraordinary words that he has written. The first short-story I read by him was The Black Cat. I started reading his work when I was in the 8th grade, for an assingment. Some of his words are gory and gruesome and that is why I love his work.

Jay Robert Kurtz Jr.
I don't know where to begin with Jay. I met him my freshmen year, which was his senior year. I always saw him in the halls and thought he was cute. Haha. I will not lie. Anyway, my best friend had introduced me to him, ever since that, we have been talking and whatnot. After getting to know him, he pointed out that we were very similar to each other. I doubtlessly agreed to that. He is beyond amazing when it comes to writing poetry and short-stories.

Superficial Questions

If I scratched your back
Would you scratch mine to rid me of my disease
Or would you rip me open to infection?
We have so many paths to choose from
And as always is the case
All ways are seemingly
Glowing
Glowing evermore inviting;
And we're just scratching the surface.

If I gave you a nudge toward realizing your fate
Would you shove me over the edge
Or would you quarter me in opposing directions?
We exist on so many levels
And as always is the case
The bottom to such depths is seemingly
Growing
Growing evermore unclear;
And we're just scratching the surface.

Like I said, he is amazing.
