How Animal was Obtained: Born on Christmas Morning. His mother, a Maltese/Poodle mix called Snowball and his father, Jack Russel Terrier mutt, Ziggie. Born in a litter of three males, and only one kept.
I had always wanted a white dog with black spots for some reason, and I got my first dog, Snowball, when I was two years old; and although she was pure white, she was completely perfect and I couldn't have loved her more. She had pups with my mom's dog, Ziggie, and gave birth to Tippy, as well as his two brothers, Hobs and Patches. She and Tippy were the loves of my life, and all her life, she knew he was her son and constantly mothered him, even when he was fully grown.
Notes: Tippy is eleven now, and his mother was killed by Peanut, our wolfdog in a fight to be Alpha female. His father also had to be put down, a few years before his mother. He was around fourteen when we had him put to sleep, as he was beginning to lose control of his bladder, was completely deaf and blind, which caused him to become abnormally fearful and bite anyone who touched him. His body was shutting down, and we decided to do what was best for him, even if it meant some long nights and lots of tears on our part.
Tippy is also getting up there, although he's still quite healthy; despite the small fat deposits you can feel inside of him around his hips; and they don't seem to faze him or cause him any pain at all.
He's got a 'Cherry eye', which would be the slightly swollen pink tear duct on his left eye you can see in some of his pictures. It's not nearly as big as most are, and it doesn't affect his vision either, and when we took him to the vet for it when he was about two years old, we were told by a professional vet that unless it got bigger and became a bother, getting it removed would be an unnecessary surgery, and moreso, an unneccesary risk of causing him to go blind early on if anything went wrong during the surgery.
All in all, he's a rather healthy dog, despite being overweight, of course. XD That would be taken care of, although he has arthritis, so he walks half a block and has to stop for half an hour to catch his breath and then limps for the rest of the day, so he'll just have to live with being a chubby old piece of lard, since he has to ride on an electric scooter if he wants to go on walks with the other dogs. xDDD
He's pretty much just a 'lost cause' as my mother calls him, and doesn't know a single command in the entire dog dictionary, and simply pants in your ear, sneezes on your feet for attention, and wipes his runny eyes, nose and mouth on your sleeves. No..he's not sick, his nose and mouth have always watered since he was born. e_e
No clue why; but it hasn't hurt him for eleven years, so I doubt much is wrong with him other than a lack of an IQ. >3
He may be just a cranky old man now who mostly only likes people and girl dogs, but he's still quite the handsome boy who is very special and beloved.
