Akita Nickname(s): Kita Age: Six Years Old Bithdate: Around June - July, 2001 Gender: Female Species: Domestic Dog and Dingo Hybrid Breed(s): Japanese Akita, Australian Cattledog and Dingo Height: 23.5" Weight: 52 lbs. Personality: Akita's the true alpha-dog of our pack. Although not the largest, she's definately the boss, and all of the others know and respect this fact. She's very dominant and confident, in an almost arrogant way at times. To her family, she's very loyal and affectionate, but to those she doesn't know, she's generally very standoffish and even occasionally hostile. Although Akita can seem a bit aggressive and offensive at first, she generally doesn't mean anyone any harm unless they're threatening her, or being too demanding about approaching her. She's very protective, and she will (and has) protected her pack with her life. ![]() ![]() ![]()
Shadey Nickname(s): Shadey Age: Five Years Old Bithdate: Around November, 2002 Gender: Female Species: Domestic Dog, Arctic Wolf Breed(s): Black Labrador, Siberian Husky and Arctic Wolf Height: 26" Weight: 79 lbs. Personality: Shadey's the beta of our pack, and she fits the position perfectly. She doesn't like a lot of conflict, and will usually break up bickering dogs in the pack. Any time a new puppy is nearby, she instantly takes over 'mommying' it for the entire time she's around it. She's usually very relaxed and laidback, but has boundless energy when you grab her harness and the gangline. She's very lovable, but extremely protective, especially of the younger members of our pack. She's usually quite quick to warm up to strangers, as long as they don't show any signs of a threat. If they do, she can go from 'lovable lapdog' to 'vicious wolfdog' in about three seconds. ![]() ![]() ![]()
Nova Nickname(s): Nova Age: Six Months Old Bithdate: April 15th, 2007 Gender: Male Species: Domestic Dog, Gray Wolf Breed(s): Siberian Husky and Gray Wolf Height: 26" Weight: 55 lbs. Personality: Nova is still growing into his pack rank, and it'll be interesting to see if he becomes alpha male or beta male, depending on if he goes with Akita or Shadey. So far, he seems like he would be an excellent candidate for either one, because although he can be very sweet and lovable, if not occasionally too much so, it also takes him a while to adjust to strangers and he's not very trusting. He isn't outright aggressive toward them unless I encourage it for protective reasons, but until he's used to someone, he's generally not the type to take his eye off of them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Toffles Nickname(s): Toffles or Toffy Age: Three Years Old Bithdate: Sometime in 2004 Gender: Male Species: Domestic Cat Breed(s): Orange Tabby Height: 15" Weight: 10 lbs. Personality: Toffles is the absolute sweetest, most gentle cat you will probably ever find. He refuses to harm anything, and that includes fighting back to defend himself. He will even bring me 'gifts' of random animals like rodents, frogs and birds, but unlike my other cats, refuses to harm them. Instead, he brings them inside, completely uninjured, and sets them loose on our carpet. If it weren't for my mom's beagles, I wouldn't have found over half of the frightened little critters. Toffles is a very sweet cat, though. He's perfectly happy just flopped over on his side in your lap, but even if he wants to leave, if you try to hold him there, he won't do much to protest. He also has a slight obsession with 'adopting' any new kittens in the house. When Spike, Cinder and Trinity were kittens, Toffles began his 'mister mom' technique at each feline arrival, and often followed them around and groomed them until they were old enough to care for themselves. ![]() ![]()
Spike Nickname(s): Spike and 'Puppy'. Age: Two Years Old Bithdate: Sometime in May of 2005 Gender: Male Species: Domestic Cat Breed(s): Gray Tabby Height: 14" Weight: 18 lbs. Personality: Spike is my typical tomcat boy. Although he's a tough guy when he's out in the neighborhoods, beating up the local cat population and flirting with his many girlfriends, he's rather quite a petty little wuss when around his family. He'll pout for hours if you scold him for the simplest things, such as jumping up on the stove where he isn't allowed, or using the couch as a scratching post (when there's a kitty condo not three feet away). He's even deathly afraid of Trinity, since she chased him around when she was a five pound kitten and has recently decided that she has changed her mind and enjoys his company, but when she tries to hang out with him, he puffs up and flees the first chance he gets. ![]() ![]()
Cinder Nickname(s): Cinder, Cinny or Cin Age: One Year and Five Months Old Bithdate: May, 2006 Gender: Female Species: Domestic Cat Breed(s): Tortoise Shell Calico Height: 14" Weight: 12 lbs. Personality: Cinder is probably one of the most affectionate cats I own. She loves to be cuddled (on her own terms, of course) and enjoys a scratch behind the ears or on the rump any time she can get someone to give her one -- as long as it's someone she knows. She hides from absolutely any strangers, and generally won't come out of her hiding place for a good hour or two after the offending humans or canines have left. Still, as lovable as this cat is to her family, she makes my mom's 'satan-cat', Emerald, look like a harmless little cuddlebug..the moment you try to trim her nails. Honestly, from an outsider's opinion, if you didn't see Cinny rolling around on her back in someone's lap, you wouldn't know she was capable of it, seeing as once you anger her, it takes all of five seconds for her to become this savage demon that must have crawled its way out of hell to wreak its fiery vengeance upon all unsuspecting souls. Trinity Nickname(s): Trinny Age: One Year Old Bithdate: September of 2006 Gender: Female Species: Domestic Cat Breed(s): Siamese and Tabby Height: 14.5" Weight: 9 lbs. Personality: Trinity is by far my most social cat. She can get along with anyone -- humans, dogs, rodents, you name it. She's not often fond of most other cats that she doesn't know, but if they don't try to growl or hiss at her..well, she'll get along with them, too. Trinny is extremely demanding, and if she doesn't get what she wants, right the very second that she decides she wants it, be prepared to be told all about how you're not hurrying quickly enough in her typical abnormally-loud, uncharacteristically low /yowl/. Not just a meow, but an actual inhuman-sounding caterwauling /yowl/. If her complaining goes unnoticed, she makes sure that she physically can't be ignored. If you're trying to write something, she'll lay across your parchment. If you're typing something on a keyboard, be prepared to have this kitty place her lard rear end directly in front of your monitor while she tries to batt at your cursor, and if at all possible, she'll crawl up in your lap and continue to tell you off, often standing halfway on your chest, shoulder or face if she can. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
The Ratties
Names: Pepper, Tidbit, Luna and Neptune
Ages: All Six Months Old Bithdates: Sometime in January of 2007 Genders: All Females Species: Fancy Rats Breed(s): Pepper- Black Top-Eared Self Tidbit- Cinnamon Agouti Top-Eared Hooded Luna- Blue Top-Eared Hooded Neptune- Blue Top-Eared Hooded Rex Personalities:
Pepper is my most social and hyperactive little carefree ratty. Her favorite thing to do is run on her excersize wheel -- she even prefers it over leaving her cage to explore. She can get along with most anyone, and although she loves to cuddle, she would rather be crawling around and exploring or, of course, going a mile a minute on her wheel.
Tidbit is my shy girl. She'll usually only come out of her cage if you take all of her cagemates out first, then she'll reluctantly crawl towards the door once she realizes her company is off exploring and having fun. She's very skittish and timid, but although she's the smallest, she can have a fiery temper, and is the only one that no one can snatch food from.
Luna, in my opinion, is my prettiest ratty -- even if she's a bit more independant and less affectionate. She'll patiently allow you to cuddle her, but she'd rather be off exploring and examining anything she shouldn't be getting into. Still, this doesn't make her completely unaffectionate or anything. Once she's finished or gotten bored of her room-inspecting, she's perfectly happy crawling around on you for petting and tickles. ..Oh, and she has this weird fascination with my eyebrow ring..
Neptune is my sweety-girl. She's by far my most lovable rat. Even if you take her out of her cage, she doesn't want to get off of your shoulder or out of your lap. She's a lot like her sister, but when it comes to affectionate levels, she's the complete opposite. She would much rather sit in the palm of your hand and be fed treats than go explore a ratty-proof room to hunt for hidden snacks.
