S.N.O Sisterhood is a bond that will last well beyond the collegiate years. No matter the amount of distance or time that may separate you, sisters are sisters forever. College life presents many challenges and decisions. DZ sorority provides a social environment to promote sisterhood, it is through your interactions with your sisters and friends, that you grow and begin to develop your full potential. The reward for being a Delta Zeta is not just what you get from it, but what you, the individual, become through it.
One of the greatest features of Delta Zeta sisterhood are the events for just you and your sisters. They are usually planned about once a month and can be just about anything. Sisterhood events range from snow tubing to comedy clubs, pool parties or pajama nights - sometimes just dinner and a movie for time to catch up. Sisterhoods are time to relive the bonds that were created during DZ initiation and ritual.
But it is sometimes the unplanned moments that show true sisterhood – studying together, going out together, being there for a sister in need. When you have a sister you are never alone. | Sister of the Month Katelyn Snyder Major: Exercise Science Involvement: Judicial Board Represenative, President of the Women's Soccer Club., Member of Norse Leadership Society Memorable Moment: One of my most memorable moments was my very own Bid Day. I remember I was running late because of class, and I came running in to the building to get my Bid. The only problem was, my recruitment group had already been taken out to run to their sororities! This was something I DIDN'T want to miss out on, so I sprinted to find them, and I made it just as my Gamma Chi read the last name on the list! I yelled, "I'm here, I'm here!" I ran to my sisters in Delta Zeta, and it was the best day of my life. How does Delta Zeta shape you into a better woman?: Delta Zeta has always made me strive to do the best I can because I realized that if I'm not giving 110% I'm not happy. Delta Zeta has given me so many girls to look up to and strive to be like. I have the confidence to go after my goals because of my sisters. To sum up a lot of things, I am more aware of the way I present myself socially and professionally because of the things I have learned through Delta Zeta. | True Stories of Friendship "Sisterhood to me is more than the planned outings that we have. It is walking into the room and knowing that you belong with this group of women." Christine "Delta Zeta has a lot to offer. It really builds me as a person. However, none of the things I do in Delta Zeta would be the same if I didn’t have my sisters along side of me. Together we do community service, study in the library, plan events, and gain leadership skills. Delta Zeta builds the individual through the work of the group. This group is the amazing bond of sisterhood." Emma
"To be a Delta Zeta means holding yourself to a higher standard. You must be strong academically, morally, and maintain a level of respect for yourself and your sisters. Delta Zeta asks it's members to have a big heart and care of the well-being of others. In return, sisters recieve love, understanding, and support. My sisters have become my NKU family and have always been there when I needed them most. Being a DZ is not just an extracurricular, it has been an investment in my future." Chelsea "When you have all the woman in Delta Zeta behind you, the small issues of everyday life seem to disappear. Every woman in this sorority goes through the same things- I used to feel that I was the only one. I have realized that with the true sisterhood in Delta Zeta, anything is possible. Not only are they my support system, but I have unconditional sisterhood that will last way beyond the best years of my life, and who wouldn't want that?" Kelly |
