"Delta Zeta helps me lead in the chapter because as a senior, I feel like a role model. I set a good example for the y
ounger women in the chapter to follow. I attend meetings, Sister's Night Outs, philanthropy events, and I hold an office. I also lead in the classroom. I am a nursing major, and because I want to fight the bad image the public has of sororities, I sit in the front of the classroom for every class, attend every class, get to class on time, and get A's and B's. DZ helps me lead in the real world because it has helped me manage my time! That is the most important thing: Delta Zeta has helped me manage my time between my social life, nursing, work, and family."

The sisters of Delta Zeta pride themselves on high standards of academic excellence. While sorority life can make the NKU experience unforgettable, we make sure to dedicate time to helping each sister reach her academic potential in college. Every year we strive to continue the legacy of scholastic success that our sisters have been setting semester after semester...and it seems to be working! DZ women have a reputation for strong academics and have been recognized time and time again as holding the highest Greek GPA on campus. So how do we help our sisters do their very best in school? We help our sisters succeed with mentoring, study days and recognition of academic achievement at our annual Academic Banquet, and DZ scholarships! Delta Zeta even has an Academic Chair who has established an entire program to help sisters in their classes. As a member of Delta Zeta, we dedicate ourselves to molding our sisters into well-rounded women, both in and out of the classroom. Annual Programs include our Acheivement Banquet held every Spring for members, alumnae and proud parents. We recognized those officers in the chapter, as well as those who have gone above and beyond academically. DZ Study Nights allow our sisters to get together and study, usually for similar classes or topics. These nights usually end with a much needed movie or outing to reward ourselves for working hard. We sometimes have friendly competitions between sisters, seeing which group can earn the highest GPA. Fun prizes are given to the winners. DZ holds a Teacher Appreciation Day every year to honor those who work so hard and go unrecognized. In the past we have given them cookies, thank you cards, school supplies and more. In meetings, we recognize those sisters who have attended all their classes that week, those who aced a test, or those who help another sister with her studies. |
