Daniel De Jesus was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Houston, TX when we was twelve. His passion for photography began at an early age and began to flourish as he entered his high school years. In the fall of 2002, De Jesus began his course work at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX and it was there he ultimately decided he'd be photographing for the rest of his life. With a profound respect for the arts, De Jesus became very active with the university's dance department and soon began shooting many of the headshots and dance photography for the theatre and dance majors. His dance photography exhibition entitled, A Dancer's Ideology, currently remains permanantly displayed at the SHSU Dance complex. After graduating from SHSU with his Bachelor of Arts in Photography in the spring of 2005, De Jesus moved to Dallas, TX with his wife, Marquita. Since moving to Dallas, De Jesus has had the pleasure of working with Josten's Photography, Celebrity Kids Portrait Studios, and Y:L Magazine. He has also gained a passion for working with children and families. After a year of gaining experience with children as the Assistant Director at KinderCare Learning Center, De Jesus realized his call to ministry. Today, he serves as the Assistant Children's Pastor at Collin Creek Community Church in Plano, TX and will pursue a Masters in Christian Education. (www.collincreekcommunity.org) He and his wife currently reside in The Colony with their cat Periwinkle.
"The dynamic of writing with light to produce an eternal image captivates me beyond belief. People captivate me even more. To build a profession that demands working with both photography and people, all for the glory of God, is my ultimate dream." ~D. De Jesus
15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. ~ Mat 5:15-17
