Road Dog - WiFi Connection Sniffer for Sony Playstation Portable
Road Dog is a WiFi connection sniffer that will allow users to easily locate hotspots while driving
in a car without becoming distracted. The main difference between this, and similar programs for the
PSP is the implementation of sound. This allows you to hear indications through your car stereo,
or while out on the street, you can leave the PSP in your pocket, using headphones to remain unnoticed.
Road Dog can save a network profile ready for the PSP internet browser to connect with when it finds
a suitable wifi hotspot so that the connection can be quickly and easily tested.
Road Dog is written in C, with the free PSP SDK (thanks ps2dev.org).
This program is not intended for stealing people's bandwidth.
I rarely use my own allocated bandwidth, let alone stealing other people's.
Perhaps you'd use it to build a demographic for marketing, although with training,
I have found in many cases that it's possible to tell if a household is below the digital poverty line
by looking at it from the street without any fancy hardware or software.
TheYouTube videos show the program in action while I was out for a drive at 2:00 am,
and another on the desk while testing.
If you're new to this you'd be suprised just how many people have unsecured connections.
I also found it interesting to drive around in rural areas and try to find networks.
