Here is another Windows program that follows on from Garmin 60CSx Whiz.
Like the previous 60CSx Whiz, Oregon Whiz was also largely developed on the Sony Playstation Portable,
and then ported to run on the Windows platform.
This program allows the user to customise some of the graphics that appear on the Garmin Oregon GPS
including the pebble texture background image, USB mass storage graphic,
an image of mountains that appears when the unit displays sunset information,
the geocaching information panel image, and odometer panel image.
Templates for the odometer and geocaching panels were traced from the original graphics are provided with the package.

The background images on the Oregon can be easily changed by providing jpg images on SD card,
but by replacing one of the built in images, it can be made clearer because the internal images
are stored in 16 bit (RGB565) bitmap format which doesn't suffer from compression artifacts.
Another reason to store an image in the firmware is for the purpose of watermarking it with the
owner's details in case the unit is lost or stolen. This provides a little more security since it
would take another firmware update to remove the images.
Note for Windows Vista users: Please Right click the application icon, and select "Run As Administrator".
Please read the documentation carefully before use.
