Garmin 60CSx Whiz
Firmware Patcher for Windows

Here is a Windows program that draws on some of the work (and ideas) I put into Bitmap Hunter for Sony PSP.
This is the first Windows program I've written, tested, and released to the public, after a lot of programming on other platforms.

This program allows the user to customise some of the graphics that appear on the Garmin 60Csx,
76CSx, 60Cx, and 76Cx model GPS units that all share exactly the same firmware file.
including the intro (boot) image, alternate intro image that appears when a welcome message is set,
and an image that appears over the alternate intro image when the device is in USB mass storage mode(60CSx and 60Cx only).
It can also patch the firmware so that all icons that usually have a blue background are changed to grey backgrounds.
For a finishing touch, the program also makes some of the same sounds as our beloved Garmin 60CSx!

Pictured above are some of the example intro images that are provided with the program package.
They are produced with the same colour palette information used by the 60CSx for the intro screen
and therefore, will appear in exactly the same colours when displayed on the unit itself.
Interestingly enough, the 60CSx intro screen palette does not contain any reds, yellows or orange colours,
but it does contain a good range of greens, violets, blues, and a very good greyscale range.

The two screenshots pictured above show how the 60CSx menu looks with grey icon backgrounds.
I found that these icons are more appealing, and suit any of the colour themes supported by the unit.
The main menu icons to the (left) have a darker grey background than the submenus (right).
