The History of Defunct Marine Mammal Parks

The Memories and the Truths

Welcome to the History of Defunct Marine Mammal Parks Website!

This site contains information on Marine Mammal Parks/Dolphinaria that have been closed down anywhere in the world. This website ISN'T for OR against marine mammals in captivity, it is an educational and historical resource for people who want to learn and share their childhood memories. Please help us collect together information on these times gone by-we value your contributions greatly!!

UPDATE Nov.09: I have yet to fit in a page about The London Dolphinarium in the UK, for now take a look at these photos of the London Dolphinarium: http://www.marineanimalwelfare.com/Dolphinaria/Web%20Pages/London%20Dolphinarium.htm (there is next to nothing about Crick Castle or Scarborough Marineland so I haven't been able to make pages for them yet.)

 Please watch the video:

Please watch our UK Dolphinaria video:

Defunct amusement parks of all kinds have always been fascinating to people for one reason or another. Whether it be photographic interest or childhood fantasies. This site just covers these specific kinds of park (ones with atleast one marine mammal in them), as there are already lists of "defunct amusement parks". Some of these parks might have been closed for very good reasons- from loss of money-to new laws on animal keeping, either way, it's nice to have things documented in one place.

So there you go, take a look around, see what you can find, feedback is greatly appreciated, our email is:

defunctmarineparks@hotmail.co.uk, and we will try to get your comments posted on the site, alternatively just share you thoughts and suggestions in the guestbook.

Au Revoir!

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE DON'T INTEND TO INFRINGE ANY COPYRIGHT LAWS OR GAIN MONEY FROM ANY OF THE CONTENT ON THIS SITE, IT IS PURELY FOR GATHERING INFORMATION TOGETHER SO THAT PEOPLE CAN ACCESS IT BETTER.
