Haha, funny that. I've finished this completely, so I would show you. But I've lost the disk I saved it to! So really, I'm screwed! lol. This is bad, this is really bad! Anyway, send fanfics to deepdive@fsmail.net and we'll get them on the site. Thanks.
The Reunion
"Sora! Sora!" called Donald, frantically running forward towards the crossroads. "Don't do this Sora!"
"I have to! We have to split up! There are three ways here right? Three of us. If we split up we can cover them all, so staying together is not an option," Sora repled looking down each of the dark roadways.
"Our orders were to stay with the Keyblade Master, we have to go with you," argued Donald.
"Then your following the wrong person! Riku is the real Keyblade Master. Go back to him," Sora snapped.
"What's the point? King Mickey's with him now," Donald replied.
"Then stay here. But we have to split up if we're gonna find them," said Sora, starting to walk down one of the roads. Donald began to run after Sora but slammed into another one of those light barriers half way down. He screamed briefly as he fell back and then turned to Goofy, who had just catch up.
"What do we do?"asked Donald, watching Sora stride down the road and eventually disappear into the shadows.
"I guess we just have to follow his orders. We can't follow him anyways, so lets stick together and go down another road. We might meet up again on the other side," Goofy replied. "But I am worried about him. Gawrsh, I hope he's gonna be OK."
"Who cares? He's abandoned us. He's been acting weird ever since he read the Kings letter." Donald said bitterly.
"Wonder why he didn't want us reading it?"
"I dunno, but it doesn't matter. Come on, let's get going."
[5 years later]
The five years that had passed seemed to have gone on forever, but finally Donald and Goofy arrived at the end of the road. Both of them had slept rough every night and eaten whatever they had found, but now all that was over. They walked slowly along the top of the large hill and looked down onto the first town they had seen in five years. Large neon lights lit the streets and the tall buildings cast eerie shadows over everything. It was late evening and the streets were strangely quiet, almost ghostly. The road they had been following ran right into the heart of the town.
Tired and hungry, they set off down the road and entered the town. The air was very forbidding as they walked through the deserted streets, and it felt like eyes were watching them from every corner.
"Uh, d'you reckon Sora ended up here?" asked Goofy sticking close to Donald.
"Who knows, maybe. But we need to find somewhere to sleep before we start looking for him." replied Donald. They arrived at a large deserted square and stood in the middle looking around. All the shops seemed closed and no-where could they see a hotel. Standing at one end of the square was a very large building with huge video screens set near the top. All they displayed was white noise. Large gargoyles guarded the doorway and the doors themselves were bolted firmly shut.
"Where is everbody?" asked Goofy, his voice quaking slightly. Before Donald could reply a familiar darkness gripped their hearts.
All around, Shadow Heartless began appearing out of the ground. There were hundreds, all surrounding Donald and Goofy.
"It's been a while since we did this," joked Donald as he drew Save The Queen.
"Do you think we can do it, against that?" trembled Goofy taking out Save The King.
"Of course, just watch!" Donald sent a Thundaga spell right into the middle of the Heartless swarm. It didn't affect any of them.
"Uh-oh," Donald groaned. Suddenly another huge bolt of lightning struck into the middle of the Heartless. Dozens fell, and the rest looked around frightened. Donald and Goofy looked around to see where the spell had come from. Their eyes came to rest on a hooded figure behind them. He was smiling slightly under his hood.
"Wha? Did you do that?" quaked Goofy. The figure nodded and grinned slightly more.
"Who are you?" Donald demanded.
"That's an insult" the figure replied in voice that sounded very familiar.
"Sora?"
The figure grinned even more and stepped forward. The Heartless had begun to recover from their shock and started charging towards the three intuders. The hooded man shot random spells at the Heartless taking them out easily until only ten or so remained. They stayed well away and began circling their prey.
"Come with me" the hooded man said and gently touched the air in front of him. A dark portal appeared and he stepped through. Donald and Goofy hesitated a bit and turned to each other.
"D'you think that is Sora?" asked Goofy.
"Only one way to find out. Let's go,"replied Donald and stepped through the portal. Goofy looked hesitantly around again, and then followed the other two through. The protal closed neatly behind him.
Flash! Blinding white light surrounded them and suddenly they found themselves in another part of the derelict city. Large raindrops were starting to fall, and night was fast approaching. Standing in front of them was a small house, that reminded Donald of the little house in Traverse Towns third district. A small light could be seen swinging around near the window, but large, heavy curtains blocked the window.
"Where are we?" asked Donald.
"Sure is spooky here" Goofy whimpered. The hooded man laughed softly. And walked forward. When he reached the door he knocked four times with the large door knocker that was fixed to the front. The shape was very distinctive, but in the low light, Donald and Goofy couldn't quite make out what shape it actually was. After a slight pause, the door swung open, seemingly of it's own accord. Beyond it was a small room that appeared empty. The little light that they had seen swinging off the window cast an eeiry shadow across the door, but it picked out the shape of the knocker perfectly. It was a large black key.
The hooded man stepped aside and gestured with his arm for them to enter. He still had that half-grin on his face as they stepped through.
The room itself was small and unfurnished, apart from four piles of blankets, one in each corner. Standing just underneath the swinging light bulb was another man dressed in an identical coat. He flicked his hood up slightly and for a split second, Goofy swore he saw a glowing yellow eye. It was gone in an instant though, and he became unsure on whether he'd seen it at all. Then the man did the most curious thing. He reached up to his hood with a black piece of cloth and fussed around with it for a few seconds. Then he pulled his hood down fully. Long silver hair fell out and a large black blindfold covered his eyes. He too wore a small smile.
"Who are you?" demanded Donald again.
"Sorry" the man shrugged.
"For what?" Goofy asked.
"This" the first man said and smashed the flat side of two keyblades into Donald and Goofy's heads, knocking them unconcious.
[2 hours later]
Donald and Goofy woke at the exact same moment and found themselves still lying on the floor. The blindfolded man was still standing by the window, and the spell casting man was leaning up against the far right wall. After a brief pause, the Kings helpers remembered what had happened and jumped to their feet. Donald reached for Save The Queen, only to find that it wasn't there. Goofy did the same thing and found that Save The King had gone too.
"Huh? What have you done with our weapons?!" shouted Donald, directing his question at both men. All the blindfolded man did was laugh softly, and once again, they felt as if they knew him. The spell caster though stood up straight and looked straight at the pair in the doorway.
"You thought we'd let you in fully armed?" he asked.
"Who are you?" screamed Donald.
"That's an insult. Thought you'd remember the one who abandoned you" the man replied and lifted down his hood. Underneath was long silver-brown hair and deep blue eyes. He grinned slightly at the two newcomers.
"Sora?" asked Goofy.
"Yeah." he replied.
"Then who's?" Donald asked.
"You don't recognise me?" blindfold said.
"Riku?" asked Donald. Blindfold nodded. "But you were in Kingdom Hearts. How did you get out?"
Riku shot a dark glance at Sora.
"Long story" Sora said dismissively.
"But who opened the door just now? None of you could." asked Goofy, still perplexed.
"Me" came a small voice from the doorway. Another cloaked person walked out and pulled down their hood. It was unmistakably Kairi.
"Kairi? But how?" exclaimed Donald.
"Like Sora said, long story" she replied. Her voice was harsher than Donald remembered, and it had lost it's sweet and innocent tone. Now it sounded like the voice of a warrior.
"Hungry?" asked Riku.
"Yeah!" cried Goofy before Donald could stop him. Riku laughed slightly and left the room via another door that they hadn't noticed before. He reappeared after a few seconds with two plates of bread and butter.
"Eat up" he said as he handed them the plates. Goofy began to tuck in straight away, but Donald held back. 'What if they aren't Sora, Riku and Kairi?' he thought. But seeing that Goofy was coming to no harm eating the food, he decided to eat as well.
Whilst the two travellers ate, Sora began pacing up and down and Riku turned back towards the window. Kairi stood by the doorway with her eyes closed, seemingly in deep thought.
"You'll need your strength back up" said Sora, finally standing still. " Because we have a long journey ahead of us."
"Journey? What journey?" asked Donald.
Sora laughed quietly. "We have to go somewhere. 'We' meaning me Kairi and Riku. Sorry, but you can't come on this one. Only Keyblade masters can pass through."
"Then how come Kairi can go? She's not a Keyblade master?" Donald turned to Kairi for support, only to find that she was standing there with a long, golden Keyblade in her hand. The keychain dangling from the blade was in the shape of a heart.
"Wha? How did you get that?" Donald demanded.
"It came to me, on the day I left Destiny Islands again." she said simply.
"But this Keyblades very special." Riku put in. "Remeber how mine unlocked people's hearts? This one seals them. All three of us have had our hearts sealed aginst the heartless anyway, but it means that we can seal anyone elses who we need to."
"How have you sealed your hearts then?" Goofy asked, still with his mouth full.
"Mine was sealed when I broke free of Ansems control in Hollow Bastion. I had rejected the darkness in my heart and so, rejected him to try and save my friends." Riku replied.
"When I released Kairi's heart from my own with Riku's Keyblade, my heart became a heartless. But when Kairi protected me, I threw off the darkness and saw the true light, friendship." Sora explained.
"Being a princess of heart, mine was already half sealed. When Sora accepted the Oathkeeper keychain from me, our friendship was confirmed and my heart was fully sealed." Kairi finished.
