My name is Debbie Back. I live in Lincolnshire, England.
For as long as I can remember I have always been 'into' dogs. I used to walk the neighbourhood pooches when I was younger and 'trained' our Rough Collie to do tricks. (Trained probably isn't the right word,'coz she was much cleverer than I and just used to humour me I'm sure!)
My road
to competitive obedience training started when the owner of the stables where I kept my pony, got a GSD pup. Carla proved to be a bit 'unruly' to say the least. Her owner didn't have time to train her so I volunteered. Off we went to the local Dog Training Club and didn't look back. Carla and I joined in many a club match and didn't do too badly. She also got placed at Exemption Show Obedience.
I then moved into my own house and got my own dog. A one year old Siberian Husky that was looking for a new home because his owner had injured her back and could no longer give him the exercise that he needed. She didn't tell me that he tried to kill everything in sight that wasn't another dog, and 'sang' for England if he was left. Unfortunately, this wasn't an option as I had to go to work to pay the bills so I decided to get him a mate to keep him company. (Either she would do the trick and he would be quiet or they could sing in harmony!)
Bea came into his life and peace reigned.
