'Rolf on Lowry' BBC 1 - 30th January 2007
Invited by the BBC to create a ceramic mosaic based on the Lowry painting 'Piccadilly Gardens' along with 15 other artists.
The artists were approached to each create a 21st century vision of L.S Lowry's painting 'Piccadilly Gardens'. The original Lowry was created in the same place over fifty years ago in 1954.
The art event started at 10am with a short break, then more creating and interviews with the crew until 3pm. With only a few hours to work on the artwork, the fifteen artists were allowed to make individual preparatory drawings and sketches etc before the event, and were also allowed to make finishing touches once back in their studio. Each artist was encouraged to work in whatever their specialism was.
