Hi, my name is Debbie. I have been making irish dancing dresses for ten years now and have seen numerous changes to the styles, fabrics and colours which have been used during those years. I make the dresses as a hobby and therefore am able to put all my effort into each and every dress rather than trying to churn out the maximum number I can in order to pay the household bills, etc.
I make every effort to make both mum and daughter (and sometimes dad and brothers/sisters) feel totally comfortable when coming to be measured and make their decision on fabrics, colours, designs etc. I usually have a large selection of fabrics and threads (mainly because I cannot walk away from a piece of fabric which I love and hope to one day make into a beautiful dress for someone!!)
This website is new and I am trying to add bits as I go along. I have started by having three pages, one which shows dresses which are currently available and "off the peg"; one for dresses which I have sold but show just how versatile I can be with designs etc and the final one is going to be for figure dresses/designs. (I currently do all the figure dresses for two schools, one likes very traditional velvet and embroidery whilst the other school prefers very modern and innovative figure dresses.
