The goal of Preventative Maintenance is to “remove the ingredients” of potential catastrophes (or) problems “before” they have the opportunity to occur. It is proactive, and is future based thinking.
So many, well-meaning people have lives that are full of current (or) potential future dramas due to not considering the value of placing Preventative Maintenance into the beginning equation. They may only see the need to address core life issues, after a catastrophe has already taken place. Then, only look for a quick easy way out of the situation. A social band-aide.
For instance, your Health Issues will impact, not only your physical body but also your abilities within your career; your emotional health; the relationships within your family; your abilities in how you can use your playtime. This also interlinks with Wealth Issues and it’s effects on all the other core areas. The same concept applies for your Relationship Health which will effect your career concentration, your physical health due to possible worry or doubt; even within your spiritual health. These eight core life areas are all interdependent and all interconnected.
When we look at our core life areas, we must put Preventative Maintenance at the top of our priority list. So that, by addressing this at-the-get-go, we can spend more of our precious time enjoying the fruits of our labor. Instead of consistently having to look for and buy new social band-aides to reuse because of our lack of focus to the value of Preventative Maintenance.
Set your life up for Success, not for Failure.
When thinking about how to apply "Preventative Maintenance" into your own life areas, it can be learned through the valuable lessons taught within these similar situations.
Using your Current Vehicle as an example: It can be useful to ask yourself these quick questions, before an issue arises. How far do you think your car would continue to go (and) How long would it last, without attending to the necessary Preventative Maintenance? Such as, oil changes; the tire rotations; new spark plugs; etc. When thinking about your current vehicle, are you owning it to be replaced (or) owning it to be reliable?
Using your Garden as an example: In order to be able to harvest anything of value during the fall. What Preventative Maintenance would be required for this to happen? Such as pulling of the weeds; remembering the necessary watering and upkeep of the nutrients for growth. If you did none of the Preventative Maintenance for a harvest, would you be able to have one? Or would you only have a bunch of weeds and a dead garden to contend with that fall?
Look at each of your "eight core life areas" and ask these valuable questions:
If there is a current problem within one of these core life areas. Now, is the time to look deeply and honestly at it, to be able to rebuild this on a solid and sturdy foundation. One that is built to last. So that we may begin to finally start to enjoy the fruits of our endeavors (and) not having to worry about buying new social band-aides any more.
