*Brrt* *Fart* The Bog...

*Passes out some noseplugs and waits while everyone puts them on*  Alright, that better then?

The Bog is the particularly nasty area of the Labyrinth that is generally avoided by everyone at all costs. However, one must wander this noxious swamp if they wish to observe the unique pictures that the putrid water bubbles up.

Everyone ready then? Here we go!

My photograph taken of a pond at the Maymont Estate Park, Richmond, Virginia.

Drawings

Here is one species of faerie native to the Labyrinth- a Green faerie. We've been overrun with them this year. The gardeners have been really hard pressed to keep their numbers in check this season.

8" x 10" Modified original drawing. Ink and color pencil. Copyright 2003.

Ohh, here's another picture spewed from the sludge. Let's take a look... *wipes off a corner with a clean rag* Oh! It's a picture of a very rare creature indeed- a dragon! And it looks like something has caught this dragon's attention- she's preparing to charge!

Original picture done in pencil, then scanned into Paint and reverted. Colored dots added one at a time. Finished in 1998, redone in 2002. Copyright 2002.

*Blurp* Oh! Here's a small picture... Looks like another dragon. Cute little thing, isn't she?

Small, 1"x1" drawing done with a Calligraphy pen and gold ink. Copyright 2003.

*Pflpt* Looks like the last picture was taken a step further... A larger, tribal-looking dragon.

7" x 9" Pencil and Sharpie. I took the Gold dragon (above), modified and upsized her to  use as our business logo. Eventually, I'll get one of them as a tattoo.Copyright 2003.

3D Sculptures

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Here is another fine example of a dragon- though this one is definately a younger beast. Only about 4-5 years old, he measures 30" long, and has a wingspan of 24". Although all dragons have a secret birthname, most do not share it with humans, and so this little guy will remain unnamed for now.

A fabric sculpture, sewn from a pattern. Finished 1998.Made of a beautiful kelly-green scaled material. Custom-made dragons are available for sale at  TheCopperDragon.com.

Here is a slightly younger beast... this dragon is only about 3 years old. And unlike the green dragon, she's decided to share her name with us: Andromeda. She currently resides with a man in Michigan, his wife, and their daughter.

A fabric sculpture, sewn from a pattern. Finished in 2001. Made of a navy-blue fabric covered in little silver "stars," like the night sky. She is the first of the custom made dragons.

This dragon is named die Konighoheitsvoll Dame, or 'Dame' (Dah-mah) for short. She was just born August 23, 2003, and is about 12" long with a wingspan of about 14". Don't let those measurements fool you however, she's still small enough to be cupped in two hands!

Fabric sculpture made to sit on your shoulder, sewn from my own pattern. Made of gold-speckled fabric. Copyright Andrea Brink 2003.

Now here is a ferocious-looking beast. This gargoyle has stood guard over the crumbling remnants of his castle for centuries. Are you brave enough to trespass his realm?

Green gargoyle, finished in 1998. About 7" x 7", made of Sculpy II polymer clay, glass eyes, real sharks' teeth, backdrop made of wood. Painted with acrylics. This little guy has some massive back muscles and a rather impressive six-pack chest. Copyright 2003.

Beware, not everything is what it seems... These are Godiva chocolates... or are they?

Faux chocolates, finished in 2002. I rolled out clay, shaped the pieces by hand, then added the "drizzled chocolate" by piping slip clay out of a baggie with the corner cut. Clay and acrylic paint chocolates. Copyright 2003.

Shh! This isn't actually from the Bog- one dark, moonlit night a hairy creature came up to me and gave this book to me. He simply said it was a book from "His" library. I have yet to break the magic keeping it locked closed, but he told me something incredible was written inside...

We're hoping to have books like this one for sale on our website soon. As is everything on my site, these will also be custom made. Copyright 2003.

Here are two of my Labyrinth ornaments I've been working on lately. I've offered them to any of my labyrinth friends online, so if you'd like one, give me an email, I've only got about 20 to hand out! They're free, but I may have to ask for help with shipping costs.

Above: One ornament held up to a lamp. Remember these are only about 1 inch in any direction. Very teeny things to paint!

Below: I took a picture of both ornaments to show both sides better. Unfortunately the picture is not as clear as I'd like, but you can see the owl and letters better. The letters are about a quarter of an inch high, and done in a pretty silvery-white paint. The owl is about half an inch long, and a quarter of an inch high, and done in white and tawny colors. When completely finished, they'll have ribbons, a few beads, and a hanger.
