Scholarship Announcement

The Dearborn Area Theater Association (DATA) is pleased to announce its fourth annual scholarship competition for senior high school students who have participated in theatre programs in the Dearborn or Dearborn Heights area.  This non-renewable scholarship recognizes the student’s commitment to bringing theater excellence to the local community.

PHASE I - To apply for the scholarship, the student must complete the following:

  • Application form, available online 
  • Theatrical Resume
  • Essay Answer
  • Letter of Recommendation from theater organization in Dearborn or Dearborn Heights

PHASE II – An invitation  for an interview including an oral presentation of either  music, monologue or portfolio in front of a jury committee may result from the application process.   The DATA president will arrange this date and the time. 

 

The Deadline for submission is January 15, 2010.

 

The 2010 audition / interview date with the scholarship committee is set for

Saturday, February 13th, 2010.  (ONE DAY ONLY)

A member of the scholarship committee will contact qualifying students

to set up a time to meet with the committee.

Applicants must also submit 1) a theatrical resume, 2) a completed typed essay answer, and 3) a signed letter of recommendation from  a Dearborn/Dearborn Heights community or scholastic theater organization in which the student participated.  An audition / portfolio presentation will also be required.  This audition / interview will be arranged by the scholarship committee.
