About Engine trucks |
| These are the most common fire trucks. They can seat 6 firefighters - driver and captain in the front and 4 firefighters behind. The breathin apparatus is situated in the firefighters compartment so it can be put on en route to a fire. Hoses are kept in a hosebed on top at the rear of the truck and one end can be attached to a hydrant while the truck drives along to unfold the hose. The pumps for the hose are located between the firefighters compartment and the equipment lockers. The truck also carries basic firefighting tools such as axes, Halligan tools, pikes, battering rams and the Jaws of Life. |
