The District of Columbia Fire Department (DCFD) is based in Washington DC. It currently has around 1250 firefighters and about 575 other personnel. The DCFD is made up of 6 Battalions protecting a total of over 1 million people.

The DCFD currently has 33 Engine Companies, 16 Truck Companies, 3 Rescue Squads, 1 Hazmat Unit, 1 Metro Support Unit, 2 Twinned Agent Units, 2 Foam Units, 1 Mass Casualty Unit, 1 Cave In Unit, 3 Fireboats and 2 Air Units.
