Within these pages I intend to be able to tell you what I can do for you and your DCC Model Railway.
I also hope to be able to tell you about my many experiences with DCC and N and OO scale locos and other equipment.
I am an enthusiast like you. I model in N scale and my son and I are currently developing a 'world' layout based on Japanese Kato equipment and DCC. On this layout we operate to no schedule and with trains from all over the world. One minute you will see a Kato Eurostar, a Fleischmann Class 218 many region freight trains, Japanese Royalty and Bullet trains galore!
My son and I have started a OO layout in much the same theme as the N gauge layout but with something a little extra - sound! Class 66, 67, 47, a Kato/Lemke loco with all sounds, a Kato HO SD90 with 16 cylinder turbocharged sounds - its great!
My son and I used to model with DC but growing frustrations led us to take the plunge with DCC and we have never looked back since - many different trains on the same section going different directions, lights on or off, at different speeds - its great! Just what a 10 year old boy (and a 39 year old man!?!) want to see.
We want to do lots more to our layout, lighting in buildings with LED's, etc - I'll post some pictures soon.
A recent and sudden dramatic change has made my son and I return to OO UK outline - this gives us sound, lights and other exciting functions not before seen with Model Railways! My OO collection is rapidly growing and the layout is developing nicely - pictures will come soon. The thought of also introducing computer control will probably prove a temptation I can't resist.......................!!!!
