Join us on the 1st & 3rd Friday nights at Baylor All Saints

Our group Depression Bipolar Support Alliance Fort Worth & Tarrant County meets the first and third Friday nights at 7:30 PM.  We ask that people come as early as 7:15 so we can get started on time.

Directions to Baylor All Saints:

We meet at Baylor All Saints in the Faxel Room, building A. The hospital is located at 1400 8th Ave. in Fort Worth.  Coming on Interstate 30, one would take the Summit (north) and 8th Ave. (south) exit and go south on 8th Ave. to Baylor's parking garage.   Self parking is free.  Magnolia Street runs right into the hospital entrance and parking area.

Enter Baylor All Saints at Andrews Women’s Hospital or the Main hospital entrance.  From these entrances turn right, go to towards Building A and look for the Faxel Room sign.  The room # A1122 is located at the end of the hallway on the right side after the door to Guest Relations.

Meetings:

The first Friday meeting of the month is a general speaker night. On this night we have a guest speaker speaking on different mental health subjects. On the third Friday, we have a peer-support group meetings. We divide into 2 different groups. Friends & Family of consumers of mental health and a mental health consumer (patients) group.

We provide some snacks after the meeting is over and encourage our members to stay and meet each other and visit.  Bringing snacks is also welcomed.  All meetings are free.  We also have free literature. For more information you may contact The Mental Health Association of Tarrant County at 817-335-5405.  For a recorded message call 817-654-7100.  E-mail DBSA Fort Worth and Tarrant County at dbsa_fortworth@yahoo.com.

The Mental Health Association of Tarrant County now has a Warm Line.

WARM LINE  ~ Staffed 2pm - 6pm weekdays 817-546-7826

Call the Warm Line if you need support and human contact, but don't need a crisis line or hotline. Timely help by people who understand can prevent crises.

You can call 817-546-7826
between 2 pm and 6 pm Monday through Friday. A volunteer mentor will talk with you. The mentors provide a listening ear and supportive dialogue, and can route you to a crisis line if needed.

The Warm Line meets a real need. It's a proactive service for a reactive world, says Lena Phillips, Peer Support Coordinator for MHATC.

The Warm Line helps people with non-critical situations to avoid calling hotlines or crises lines. This frees up resources for critical needs.

Volunteers also make outreach calls for follow-up and to reach individuals in need of support.

MHA also has a searchable database.

Courage2Change is maintained by Paul L. Warren, Psy.D., clinical psychologist, and Jan Hughes, LCSW, clinical social worker.  We are two Episcopalian therapists who understand that many people, for many reasons,  have difficulty with organized religion.  In our own journeys, we found a practical and grounded spirituality in the Twelve Steps which we believe is accessible to everyone.   We know a good and loving God who is seeking all of us and never gives up.
